I use a mag drill to drill holes for screwing the table top to the frame. The screws are M10 X 25mm. I had to shorten the four 36mm sockets, and weld them back together again. These will be there permanent, so i can adjust the table legs as i want.

Very Nice, I really like the side table for the cut off saw and the side extension. Beats cutting steel on your knees...

Hope you don't mind if I steal some of your design ideas.

Cheers,

Fred

Thanks. I don't mind. I found many of the ideas on this forum and other ones.

Here is the progress for today. A brand new vice for the welding table:

Glad to see that top being bolted on vs. welded! Those Ridgid vises are very nice, I think you will enjoy using it a lot.

Re: Diy welding/fabrication table

This might be one of my favorite designs for my situation. Will you post final design and parts list?

Really nice!

Wish I could weld like that!

The receiver hitch dealio is great... I've already got that going on in my little shop, so no reason not to, as It will just make my future fab table flexible!

I gotta ask... where do you guys get your table tops?
I simple cant afford to buy a 1/2 plate around here... Im probably going slatted because of that!

They have a good reputation over here.

I can look into that later, when the table is done.

A company in Norway cut the plate for me. I payd for the labour and the weight for the steel plate. Not cheep but ok.

Just started to make a manual turn table for my welding table. Here are some picture of that. I got this idea from a great welder. He calls him self txsviking on youtube.

Here is the link:

The welding table is now sandblasted, and ready for paint. I use muriatic acid to get rid of the mill scale on the table top.

Beautiful build! As someone still in the "sketching on napkins" phase of my fab table, this was some terrific inspiration.

Pretty fancy booth.

Thanks.

What's your ventilation setup in the spray booth?

I don’t have any ventilation at this point. I use a Sundstrøm SR100 as a mask, and a dehumidifier with heat. Then i can keep the moisture level low and perfect temperature for painting. I don’t use spray paint, but i use a paint brush for very fine finishes.

First layer of red paint:

Ok, this is bittersweet for me.... you took my concept and raised the bar at least 3 notches with the adjustable legs, manual turn table and better execution...all of which is awesome... and the best compliment I can give is that you have made me a little jealous of my own table...lol. However, the bad news is that now you have kicked in my ocd and have made me add to my already long to-do list to repaint my table!

Seriously, the table has turned out great and I am going to have to add that turn table to mine as that was a great idea and well executed.

Industrial metal supply brother. But right now isn't the time to buy a chunk.
