Here is mine, I made it from an old a/c unit. Used a receiver hitch for the vise, and bench grinder.

Not to pee on your parade or take away from an excuse to fire up a welder but with this economy you can buy a table cheaper than the cost of the steel. Buy a used one and then modify it to your liking.

wheres the fun in that?

I could buy a used racecar too but its way more fun to bend tubing, weld it all and say I did it on my own.

I have never seen anyone put the hitch receiver vertical... I like this idea tho because it can keep the vise or grinder over the table. Do you have any more pictures of how to secure it?

jakeb, here is another pic. The vise does move a little in the receiver, but not enough to make me add a set screw to it. It is nice to be able to rotate it also.

Miller's Arc stations are very similar with the open tops of their legs. A bit lighter duty than the one posted above (although close to the same color :) ) but a nice idea.

How are you painting the frame of the table ? I love that color, was wondering if its a rattle can ? Which color/brand is that ?

Thanks in advance

Here is a picture of my welding table before I finished it. (Will have to find or take a picture of the finished product). It turned out great and is very functional. Added treadplate, air and electicity 110 and 220, magnets and air tool holders to the table. It is now painted same blue "matches" my pallet rack pictured that I built and tread plated nearly the same. Chris

This is my welding table/body dolly/chassis jig:

picture.php

Dimensions are 5x10'7" I have 2 pieces of 1/8" plate to put on top when using as a weld table I also have leg extensions so its not 18" off the floor. I have it set up now to put a body on that I need to do body work on.

I just finished this up, when I goto build my next chassis on it I will drill and tap some holes every 3" around the perimeter and across the cross bars..

Its a good height there for a roll around stool, and so I can still reach the roof of most bodies w/o needing a ladder or something.

Here is the start to my 2' x 10' table.

I have the legs cut which should put the table right about 38" tall.
I will hopefully finish the top some day with 3/4" plate.

This measurers 38" x 72". The nice part about this bench is the heavy duty wheels. They came off an old torpedo cart.

Wow you guys have some great welding benches/tables.

Here is mine somewhat cleaned up as it doubles as an (dis)assembly table amongst other things table.

The yellow boxes are just cheap electrical outlets. And now that you've pointed them out, I need to get off my can and wire in some proper outlets. Thanks.

The shop is actually just a really small 2 car garage with too much stuff crammed in it. I can't even dream about getting a car in there now.

Another bench. It's nice to have one tall bench for welding small items and one lower bench for taller-larger projects. Kind of solved my problem of not having the perfect height bench.

Here are a few tables I have. These are from when we were moving everything in so excuse the mess.

This one is 4' x 10' with a 1/2" thick top.

This is a 4'x8' layout table.

+1 looks like a shop where things get made rather than waxed. ;)

I don't have the space for a dedicated true weld table just yet. For now I have a fold out stainless table on the side of a rolling work station. It is reinforced with a bunch of strut and I spent s little time truing it flat but it is not for dead true work. I have some repurposed from a frame machine parts I now use for jigging stuff for welding. I am keeping an eye out for the right steel flat 3/4 thick or so to make a table from. Make a frame with lots of supports so I can tune the steel deck flat then drill and tap a bunch of clamp down holes.
