Welding table pics ?

I built a welding table around a StrongHand Tools FixturePoint top.

Koenbro, nicely done going from design to implementation. I can relate to trying to pack in a lot of features into a small footprint.

It's great to see this thread come alive again. This thread and the one from Weldingweb were big inspirations for me and many others in our table builds and it's been fun to see how folks take different ideas and incorporate them into their designs.

Here are a few of my table. It is constructed of a main table and vise that were great-grandpas, moved to my grandpas garage in 1964 and then to my shop in 2015. The end cabinet and wheels are from Dad's home-built tool box he pushed around GM for 30 years before retiring. Oddly enough, the box width is exactly that of the table. I used a chain bailer for a wheel lock.

Does someone have a good Canadian source for adjustable feet?

I'm presently building a 31 x 64 table. I think I will use 4" or 5" (3/8) flat bar for a slatted top. What distance between plates works good?

This thread needs to be brought back from the dead also... If you been following my post I'm getting ready to build a portable welding table. Going to be close to 4' by 6'. I haven't decided to do holes or to do slots yet. Thought maybe a little of both but haven't totally decided yet. Anyone have any other great idea's? Let's see the upgrades you have made!

Warren,I got it from my local Canadian Tire it's the Tremclad Fire Red .
I just used a paintbrush strait out of the can.

I used ABS boxes and mounted to the table with nylon bolts so that there was no direct contact to the table.

Care to share the deal you got? They seem to go for $2k+ in California in 'sitting outside for years' condition.

I'd love to find one for around 1k$ and have it made perfectly flat again... you got any clamps made for it?

I don't mind at all. I paid $600 Canadian for it. It came out of a local fab shop. The top is in excellent condition, only a few marks on it. Put a flat edge on it and it's still nice and true. i do not have any clamps for it yet. But I have 10 HD Bessy clamps I am going to modify to use.

The stronghand acorn specific clamps are supposed to be very nice. Apparently not even worth cobbling something together. Awesome find!

Thanks, I am pretty happy about it.
The strong hand clamps ar $150-$200 each!!! They are not that hard to copy. Just have to turn a round bar down and machine out a slot for the modified bessy clamp to fit into and tig it up.
