If it's copper looking its most likely solid and you'll need gas. Another little trick is flux core wire will break if you bend it a couple times.

Welder 4956 is correct that it is solid wire. It does require gas. Whether it is ER70S-6 or ER70S-2 is irrelevant at this point as either is good for MIG with either C25 Ar/CO2 or straight CO2 gas.
