Hi Stas, never was such a rule, at least in the 20th century. That's a problem with Wikipedia, someone can write something misleading, and people believe it 'because it's on the internet'!
We get a false picture of your country too, with everyone living on bread and borscht, in grey concrete apartment blocks!
Like you, I much prefer to communicate with real people, on sites like this.

Hello for all peoples!

Last night I really wanted food from the USSR. In the USSR, the very popular "Doctor" sausage (boiled), now it is also sold, but the taste is completely different, it used to be tastier and more natural. Katya bought sausage, which returned me the taste from childhood by 90%.
We take the doctor sausage, cut and fry in a frying pan until golden brown.
Very tasty with ketchup, bread and sweet tea :)

This morning I woke up, a squally wind was raging on the window, throwing fine vile snow. I took Rostislav to kindergarten, and I returned home.
Every morning usually begins with coffee, which we brew on a drip type coffee maker. We also have a Turk and a geyser-type coffee maker, but with them there is more trouble, and in the morning I want to be faster and simpler.

IMG_20190419_080426

I like coffee with milk and sugar.
IMG_20190419_081426

Milk cold from the fridge, it cools a little coffee, but I like it, so as not to burn myself

Now I’ll pour myself some more coffee and get to work, I need to place an order for auto parts to my supplier in China named Wu.

Great Friday for everyone, despite the terrible weather outside :)

Stas, We have Keurig coffee markers here we use all the time. It uses pods that you place in it to brew one cup at a time, I like hot coco instead of coffee. We have a lot of choices of coffee and or coco if that's what you like to go in it. Using it save clean up and everyone has different taste of what they like.

Stas, I started reviewing your thread yesterday and spent most the day reading through the various updates and posts. I appreciate you sharing about your country and your day-to-day life. I find it enlightening and fascinating. I have only been to 4 countries internationally and it always amazes me the difference in my original thoughts of what it would be like to what it actually is.

In my experience, it is the culture, the people and the intricacies and nuances that give each different region its vibrance. I always thought of Siberia as the baren wasteland forever covered in snow. Yet, thanks to you, I see the beauty of the land once the snow melts.

I like the movie Cobra as well. Oddly in my area, nobody has even heard of it. Then again, I did have one of my employees tell me that a movie from the '90s (The Big Hit) was an "old" movie and why would she ever watch that. Talk about feeling 10 years older in a blink.

Thank you for sharing with us.

What is "Doctor" sausage? Is it a brand?

I agree with the drip-coffee make convenience. Though when I have a few minutes to spare, I really enjoy a good cup of coffee made with a french press. I waffle between black coffee and coffee with milk.

Well I forget the original reason for my post and I need to get back to work.

Enjoy the day!

I always thought The Big Hit was underrated. No it's not oscar material, but it is hilarious and my friends and I occasionally quote it to this day. Cobra is entertaining as well in it's own, "Dirty Harry done in the style of Rambo / Judge Dredd" way.

On-topic, I also just found this thread and always appreciate seeing somewhat the same segment (garage hobbies) from a different cultures. Thanks to the OP for sharing!

We prefer black tea in Russia. Drink coffee too, but less often than tea

I started writing here on the forum to help people from all over the world to better understand the Russian soul, the power of Siberia and life here in Russia.
I am glad that you are interested! I was only in China, Thailand and Vietnam, my wife was also in Spain, France, Bulgaria, Monaco, Montenegro.
I dream that someday I will be able to afford to visit the United States and England. It is possible that it will be possible to meet people from this forum live face to face....

Doctor sausage is a recipe for sausage from the USSR, it is not a brand.

Good coffee will always be a good coffee.

Your breakfast looks........

I would be happy to sit at the table.

I like mine with half milk half cream; no sugar. This gives me an excuse to have with pastry.:lol_hitti

Hello to all!
First of all, I want to congratulate everyone on Victory Day on May 9. I apologize for being late, but there were good reasons.
Thanks to our ancestors for the peaceful sky above us.

At the beginning of May I drove past the Victory Square in Krasnoyarsk and stopped to watch the schoolchildren prepare for this holiday.

And according to tradition, a few days later, it was snowing like that in the morning. On the way to Krasnoyarsk there were several accidents on the highway. :lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

From a warehouse in Krasnoyarsk, we sent a parcel with auto parts to the north of our region, the city of Norilsk (located above the Arctic Circle). From the end of summer until the end of spring, only air delivery from Krasnoyarsk is available there. We called the courier EMC mail to pick up the parcel. He came here on this car GAZ "Sable" 4 * 4 (modification of "Gazelle") - price for new is 18450$, used from 7000$.

In Krasnoyarsk, a real YAK-40 aircraft is parked near a car service station in a parking lot. We flew from Krasnoyarsk to Ust-Kamenogorsk on a plane to visit our great-grandmother when I was a little boy in the 80s and 90s. I was surprised, he has been standing there for about a month now and looks very good, but I don’t know why he is there. :pimpflash

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you are interested to watch and read. As for the repair of roads, in Russia this is a favorite topic for receiving bribes when holding auctions for the right to repair.

The pic looks a lot like here - 1 guy working, 3 supervisors.....:)

That plane in the parking lot looks like such a typical normal russian thing.

- Dude, is that a plane in the parking lot?
- Yeah, but we’re in Russia.
- Oh, right... nevermind then.

Very interesting, thanks for all the great pictures and information. It seems to me that we are all very much the same, we enjoy good food, time with our families and time in the garage.

I am sure Stas won’t mind me posting up here for you guys

Autumn in Siberia.

Nights dropping to -3’C and some chilly days too.

Out working with services on top of his apartment block two weeks ago.

In the mean time we chat almost daily and both he and Katya continue to be busy.

His business takes a lot of his time.

Like many others on here, he will be back.

Thanks for posting. I enjoy seeing humanity without politics/government being involved.

I especially enjoyed the racing pictures, I do the same thing here, just not on snow!

Real time update.

Stas has been to the vaccination clinic to get his daughters paediatric vaccines done.

Then headed across town

15’C and warm today.

To get new snow tires/tyres fitted to Katyas car.

Steel studded of course.

Been a while, but Stas and his family are well in Siberia.

Been in isolation like everyone else.

Yesterday they worked on the grounds around the block of flats they live in.

Garden beds, flowers, trees, shrubs etc planted and prepped.

Today Stas was going to paint the parking space lines on their estate,

Afterwards, a shower and a beer.

Followed by a walk with his family.

And a “Sakura” moment with Katya.

In the mean time, Stas and his family carry on regardless

Greetings from Stas.

Life carries on in Corona era Siberia.

And some random rareness from Stas.

Moskvitch 412 pickup.

Also being summer

All things BBQ gets shared.

And of course a farmyard lunch with the in-laws.

In the mean time, stay sensible.

I was just reading about the oil spill that occurred in Siberia. Of course I thought about you and your family. Even though it is probably a long way from your home.
It is a great environmental disaster and I hope it is properly dealt with.

Why is Grizz posting, not Stas???

Grizz and Stas are good buddies.

We chat most days on Whatsapp. Often late at night over a beer after a long day for Stas.

I think he is just real busy running his business and a young family.

I am happy to stop posting random pics and updates from him if it’s bothering you.
