What are these??

I need help to identify what these were used for, they where in my Grandpa's tool box and I have no idea what they would have been used for.

Saw set and hollow auger. Does the hollow auger (last pic) happen to say Bonney on it??

How are they used?

I just recently learned about the saw set when I picked one up recently. I also have a saw vice that I didn't know what was. With the two I was able to sharpen my handsaws that were dull as butter knives. With the saw in the vice with the teeth sticking up, use a triangular file to sharpen every second tooth keeping the same angle as you go. Come back sharpening the missed teeth. NOW comes the time for the saw set...Place saw set over tooth and squeeze. the saw set "sets" the tooth at the proper angle for the kerf and makes every tooth set at the same angle. The saw set I have has a dial to change the angle of the set allowing for different thickness of kerf.

alwaysFlOReD you left out one step to get the teeth all the same length, you use a gauge and file the tops of teeth and then triangle file and saw set. Hatrack300 there is probably a tooth height gauge somewhere in the stuff you got. Looks like a small metal level but with the area where the level bulb would be it is lower than the rest of the gauge. That's where you file them.

How are they used?

A hollow auver is used to shave tenons, like a chair or table leg, to fit in its hole. Someone here can probably explain better.

That's the description of a raker gauge used on crosscut saws. Handsaws don't have rakers.
The tool that used to make all the teeth the same length is called a jointer. Basically a file mounted in a holder that you run lengthwise over the ends of the teeth to even them up.
