This is a tough one.... I have both OCD and ADD. My OCD makes me crazy about;

-Anything hanging on the wall must be level and evenly spaced
-uneven or not level tile, brick, pavers etc. drive me batty
-anything crooked (doors, trim, paint lines)
-clean counters and sink, and the way the dishes are put in the cabinets
-different type bulbs in a multi bulb fixture
-a lot more

My ADD causes me to have several projects going at one time at various levels of completion. I have to force myself to put tools away if I am in the middle of a project.
I tend to hoard things.
My shop is in a constant state of re-organization
I hate putting clothes away if I will wear them soon
I have several little piles of various hardware that is going to be used for something

Hahaha! I'm the same way!!! I replaced all the outlets and switches in my house three years ago and all the screws are still horizontal!!!

And I thought I was the only one......mine are all vertical to match the blade slots......now I gave you something to think about didn't i.....

Oh, and all my car cleaning products must be facing label out, and if they have spray nozzles, they must, must I say, face to the left.

I'm very ocd so almost everything bugs me. A couple things that really bother me are clutter and messy floors. I'm not the most organized person so my cabinets aren't always in proper order, but if a stack of mail accumulates on the kitchen table that drives me crazy! My wife could care less so we've butted heads a few times over this! My floors get vacuumed almost daily. Garage floor gets sprayed down almost daily as well. Honestly wish I wasn't so concerned about the little things in life, but as hard as I try to not let it bother me, it does.

I would have said nothing but reading 3 pages, I seemed to have a few. But I will ask a question, what is so bad about doing things properly? Everyone knows the outlet screws should be vertical, tools have a proper place, toilet paper feeds over the top.... So, are we **** or just doing things correctly?

But my biggest one is my closet. I hate to fold clothes, so I try to hang everything up. All shirts are hung facing left, pants are too. I have separate sections for t-shirts, golf, button ups, pants and shorts. What is so hard to see this? When I was recovering from the BMT, I had a number of different people taking care of me. Took me about 4 hours to straighten my closet out.

Listening to one person refer to another with the title (SIR) after leaving the USMC I swore I would never use that title again ,and in the last 20 years I have not.

My shop floor has to be clean! No grit, dead bugs or other debris... Clean after every project and whenever there is anything I can see.

I thought I was the only one! Over the top is THE correct way!

Interesting. I remember the results of a magazine poll done several years ago. More men preferred over the top to the front (easier to grab) and most women preferred the paper to the back (neater.)
I must confess that I am a contrarian. I prefer it to the back.

Leaving lights on when you're not in the room. When I was growing up, my mom would yell at my dad and I to turn the lights off all the time.

Now that I have my own house, I'm constantly yelling at my wife and stepdaughter to turn the lights off when they're not in a room. Last night we got our DWP bill and my wife mentioned that the electricity portion went up. I told her that's from you and your daughter leaving lights on all the time :eyecrazy:

Party at my house! I'm inviting all the analites. Maybe my garage will be pristine afterward. If so, we'll make it an annual event!

Should that not be an **** event (although if you put that on the invite people might get the wrong idea and turn up dressed inappropriately with the wrong equipment for what you have in mind!)

Count me in on this, it's sad if I go into a restroom and see it, I have to fix it before I do what I'm there to do.

The $ facing,

Shoes left laying around,

Dishes in the sink,

Lights left on,

My wife seems to have trouble closing drawers and cabinet doors fully, the Gladiator cabinets in the garage she leaves wide open,

I could go on and on....

Not much bothers me, accept I will doggedly pursue the root cause of a problem or malfunction. That and strange tire tracks in my drive way, I just have to know who left them there and why.

Toilet paper, over the top

Currency HAS to be arranged with President's heads facing in the same upward direction, bills of same denomination together, and with larger bills on outside (use a money clip).

People who nod or shake their heads in response to a question-I expect a verbal response.

People who say Um-hmmm or the like. I have a slight hearing loss and Um-hmmm sounds the same to me as nuh-uhhhh.

I used to watch a neighbor wash down his driveway with a garden hose at least twice a week. Granted it was the cleanest driveway in the hood but man what a clown I would say. Who would do something like that..

Well I am happy to say I have a gravel driveway so I am not that clown, BUT I have a 30foot concrete pad outside the barn to park on and work on outside projects and I find myself pressure washing it down every time the equipment is out there. How do these things happen? How do we turn into those we mocked when we were younger, who are we? I have worked in healthcare and aviation/Defense and keeping shops super clean is not only **** on my part it is culture. A culture that breads safety and shows a little professionalism even as I swear and curse as I snap rusted bolts and hack up old cars.

For my OCD types out there. We know most people are **** about the care and storage of their tools but what is something that you are **** about.

I know I'm **** about making sure that the screws in the outlet and light switch plates are always horizontal (or vertical) but I stick with horizontal.

I always keep the screws vertical, toilet paper over the top, only go the Chevron since they always have the best windshield washing stuff, and always use three sheets of paper to wash my windshield, my lawn ALWAYS has lines in it, even if I have to mow it three times a week, always use a push mower, never a ride on (even when I had two acres of grass) as they don't leave good lines, weed eat first, then use the blower, then mow and finally blow again.........IT NEVER STOPS - HHHEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!

Oh ****....you opened up a can of worms......

Leaving lights on...no one in my house knows how to turn off lights....

Dish cloth....my wife leaves it anywhere in the kitchen except the hanger for it.

Sink full of dishes...dishwasher can be empty and the kids (and wife) toss them in the sink

Towels in the bathroom...no one can hang it up properly so it dries...

Clothes on the floor.

Drivers who don't know how to make a right turn on red

Drivers who can't stay in their lane

Drivers who can't drive.

The kids using a new cup every time they get a drink

My wife saves the envelops from junk mail

I could go on.....but I'm starting to think I have some **** issues....

Don't have one if you aren't going to mow it regularly, fertilize it and keep it neat and edged.

I HATE the crappy lawns many of my neighbors have, with dandelions all over them, tall patches of grass they missed with their mower, sucker tree shoots poking up all over, tufts of uncut grass all along the fences, and the goddamn grass hanging out all over the sidewalk, instead of edged along the cement.
Don't even get me started about the guys that mow, but do it all wrong and cut it too short, just so they can wait three damn weeks to do it again.

Oh, and jerks that end sentences with "so".

I like to keep both three way switches facing down when the lights in that room or area are off. To the point that I'll turn my stairwell lights on, walk up stairs and turn living room lights on (that also light up the stairway) then walk back downstairs and turn stairway lights off. Then back upstairs.

Or I just walk up the stairs in the dark.

If one of the 3-way switches for a bank of lights is by itself and not in a hang-out area then I don't mind if they're opposite as long as the one near a bunch of other switches is down when the lights are off. But I've only have that situation in one place in my house.

i thought I was the only one that has to have all shirts/coats face the same way. I have to have the hook of the hanger face the left shoulder.

ditto about the $ bills.

Of course!
How else can you hang stuff in a closet?

Duh!

And I thought it was common knowledge that all the bills in your pocket had to be faced the same way, with small bills inside and large outside. You mean some people don't do this??

Holy ****!

Ditto on the electrical outlet screws..

My OCD thing is that all beer stocked in the fridge must have the labels facing out.

I'm **** about nuts and bolts. They all have to be the perfect size. They all must use the same style washer and head design. I recently bought a good stock of nuts bolts and washers just so I wouldn't have to stop what I'm doing to go to the hardware store and purchase 1 perfectly sized bolt. Same goes for wiring and crimp connectors and plumbing fittings.

I've got a friend that not only had the closet organized by shirts and pants, but same colors were together and ALL the hangers had to be the same color (black)

I can't stand people that don't clear the snow off their driveway and sidewalks. People that walk there dog and don't clean up after them and worst of all (kinda) SOLICITATORS. I'm not going to wait for a sales man to come to my house and sell me windows or siding. I am going to call somebody when I am ready

****....I'm normal!!!!

I agree on the closet (hooks to the right shoulder though), TP over the top, strange tire marks in the driveway and so much more. The shoes piss me off too, I used to hide the wife's shoes when she'd leave them at the bottom of the stairs, never had a broken bone and didn't want to get one from her shoes. I also hate when she just stuffs the Tupperware bowls and lids in the cupboards haphazardly, STACK THEM NICE AND ORDERLY. Doors that are partially open enrage me, you could walk right into one on a midnight trip to the pisser.

Edit...forgot, keys, wallet etc. in my pocket until my pants come off and always in the same spot on the counter until the pants are back on. I also agree 100& with the switches being all down when off. In our last house I had to pull and flip switches so I could live in it. Contractor must have hired a wet behind the ears electrician.

Guilty as charged.....of being **** about my lawn that is....so...

Pulling your piñata, Steevo.

Mine gets mowed EVERY week in the warm months.. Which is almost always in SoCal. It's a warm season grass, St. Augustine and with our current drought, HEAT, and water rationing it honestly looks like ****. But it's mowed, edged, watered as much as I can

Other things I'm **** about? All my shirts face to the left - my dress shirts for work come that way from the dry cleaners plus I'm left handed so I put my other shirts that's auto.
I TRY to put them in order by color but I can't pull it off for long.

On the weekend, if I don't do my chores - lawns, wash cars, general clean up first before anything else I always feel like I did things "wrong" for some reason.
