This train set consists of 2000 feet of track with a 80' long tunnel/ a trestle of about 70' /a foot bridge/ a fully stocked train station. 3 passenger cars/ a flatbed/ Have 2 "G16" engines both built by the "Minature Train Company" out of Indiana. The company made these for parks in the 40's. They use a Wisconsin V4 for power. It's taken 5 years of summer work to get it just about completely finished. Had a Halloween party last year with about 70 people and ran the train till 3:00AM- a little over 100 trips.

That is very cool. Do you have any video? 930:)

I just spent the last 3 hours cleaning out the new T tub. Lots of moss, leaves, dirt, and other junk, but I found a couple of cool little treasures as well. They're not worth much $$ wise, but I found these two bottles as well as a 1927 Cdn nickel and 1919 Cdn dime. Both in fairly good shape. I bet they've been hiding in there for awhile. :)

I sorted through all the bits and pieces that had been piled inside the car and found an almost complete T-bucket body! It's rough, but the main pieces are all there.

I don't know what year of T they fit, but there's two types of top irons in the pile as well. Any guesses?

This is an aftermarket "Peerless" rad shell. It's pretty decent with just a couple of cracks at the mounting flanges.
7507.JPG

A cowl and w/s assembly for a 1917-22 touring/roadster. I also got a second cowl panel that's near mint! You can see it on the bucket body.
7515.JPG

And finally, my new tub now that it's up on jack stands and cleaned out. I also crudely straightened out the fenders and some of the bigger dents in the body. This car will be all steel when I'm done with it!

I spent part of the day working on new power window motors for the '55 T-bird. This afternoon I winterized some outside stuff in preparation for tonight's freezing temps (the first of this fall).

Started working on my custom radio flyer wagon I'm building for my future daughter, due in Febuary. It's going to be lowered, candy or metallic hot pink, faux leopard print plush interior.

nothing as cool as a mini Great Northern train in my backyard WOW !
I think GN is what the train at the Woodland Park Zoo was. My great grandfather was an engineer with GN.
Makes the V8 Volvo swap I am doing seem pretty dull.

I cut up about 40' of tree trunk, mowed and chopped leaves. Tomorrow, I'm taking the 4 wheeler and splitter over to my parents to split it all up.

I just put a couple of tubes in the fragile tubeless tires on my free riding mower. Ran a hard air line between the compressor and the blast cabinet and a few other things to avoid painting my daughters bedroom!

Been putting the hours in the basement squared away.. about 98% done... got a bit of custom shelving to finish and caulking and painting the bathroom.. most importantly the theater room is done.. and the compressor relocation to the basement is complete.. now I need to upgrade my compressor..

once finances recover, I have to finish the shelving, doors on the book cases and seating for the theater room.. for now I am making do with a torn apart sectional..

Kraftwerk - any chance that you would start a thread and show off the lil wagon build that you are working on? Very cool idea. My daughter spends as much time as her Mom will let her hanging in the shop and wish that I would have thought of something like that!

I spent yesterday evening pulling the fenders and running boards off the T. I just have to get the body off the frame now so I can pack the whole mess away in my storage building until I'm ready to build it. :)

Sounds like you're working on a vintage house. Any pics or info?

I've got a frame stretch job sitting in my bay for Monday morning. After that, I'll build a carrier on the same truck.

As for today? I'm effing off on the computer when I should be doing something constructive.

Emptied one of the sheds out back & removed the 2 walls that enclosed it....hung Corvette engine on engine stand.

Then, everything stopped for the AL-TN football game.

I am so happy I found this forum. You guys are working on a great variety of projects. I love seeing so many people still doing things themselves with their own 2 hands.

As for me, I'm still trying to get my garage organized and ready to work in. My main projects now are running a subpanel to my attached garage (to power a welder and compressor), and to put a Modine Hot Dawg furnace in. Like most of you, it's tough to find time to accomplish projects outside of work/family time.

But in the meantime, I will live vicariously through you guys :)

Luckily, I got the "Super-Special" - it was $589 and came with a $40 bonus pak with gloves, hammer, soap stones, wire bursh and extra wire. Of course by the time it's all said and done, with taxes it was $650, plus the gas, a Mig-Mix tank(3 yr lease) was $165 and an extension cord was $85.00.....walla....close to $1000!!!:wtf::bounce:

Putting an LT1 engine out of a 1996 Caprice into a 1991 Jaguar XJS. I thought I'd have it done in a couple months, but it looks like it will be closer to a year.

I'm at a comparable stage with the garage. I am working on adding 6 4x8 flourescent fixtures to the single bulb that currently encompasses my garage lighting. I have a backlog of projects for this weekend and the rest of the year pretty much, so I'm trying to get the garage as comfortable as possible to work in. After doing a timing belt with 3 work lights and a flashlight, I put everything on hold until I can work like a human being.:bounce:

That'll fix a lot of the problems with the Jag! :spit: Seriously, I looked under the hood of an XJS one time. Only one time. Gave me the shivering willies for years after that! So much spahetti....

I like those kinds of mods.. taking a great car and marrying it to a great powertrain/suspension package. Lots of headscratching and work, but you wind up with a very unique car at the end. Hope you'll post up pics of your mod!

So let me get this straight, You were sat on the can taking a ****, while drooling & explaining to your missus that you bought a new welder?

There's a visual I could have gone all day without..

Tee hee - Get your mind out of the.....*******!!! What I meant was I was "dreading" (aka "shitting") having to tell her I spend another grand on tools....

Boyd - that looked like a FUN FUN FUN day!!!:bounce: What better than bringing home a new prize and then getting to go though it and find more stuff!!! In 1919 that money was WORTH something - Someone was rich!

My FIL has a 39/40 Ford truck hulk in the bush that I keep meaning to grab. Same scenario - it'd be fun to unearth all the **** around it too.

Thanks for the inspiration!
