What color

Hey everyone I have another question since the house I just bought the garage isn't painted. Can you give me what the best color to paint it, the garage I have now is a beige color I was thinking maybe Grey, I don't want white.

Common sense says you paint it to match the house..........or you could go with the pink with lavender trim.

That's the way I have it now, but in the new house I was thinking a light gray color. I've seen on here where a lot of people use gray to make it brighter and looks good.

Light and dark. It can be blues, shades of gray, even greens and reds.

Depends what you plan on doing in the garage.

If its a working garage, paint it white to reflect the light better, a light grey would be alright as well.

If its just a parking spot, match the house.

If you will only be using the garage as a wash and detail area, then

I would opt for Pink, with a Lavender trim. However if you were to

upgrade the operation to include oil changes, lube jobs, and other

light maintenance, I would go with a flat White which hides a multitude

of surface irregularities. I would guess that the garage sheetrock is not

finished quite as well as the house's is. Use a good ground coat

to seal the sheetrock and to give the finish paint something with tooth

to adhere to, other wise the finish will soak into the bare rock, or

won't stick well to the paint that is there already (if there is already

paint there).

I would go with a matte/flat pure white base with just a hint of blue tint to it... this will really make the walls reflect light and brighten the work area.

Look at how schools are painted.........****** green up to arms length,then off white above for lite refraction.So,green iffin you're flick'n alot of buggers.....maybe gray if you're sling'n shop crud?

Our cabmet shop is wood dust biege....with off white above.It does make a difference......meaning,anyone who's poo-pooing certain colours must be either,not producing much or is so clean the chit never gets on the walls?BW

Most garages and shops don't have enough light and white will help to brighten a poorly lit work space. If you're detailing a car, you need all the light you can get, especially down low.

I'd paint it whatever color you want to paint it, except white. You might possibly want to paint it gray.

A lighter color will definitely make the garage seem brighter which is something I would think you would want.

and I'll go against the flat paint grain and say high gloss white with the longest nap roller you can get. this should leave a slight stipple effect, and the high gloss is easy to clean for splashes, and easy to keep clear of dust.

Imperfections the sheetrock/tape/mud? Its not that difficult to feather it out and get it smooth...

If you want to have an accent color on the lower half, fine, but even there I like it light as it helps when I'm trying to see in "dark" corners. a lot... Maybe just mid wall stripes that carried your car color theme?

I painted my garage interior as described about 25 years ago. It is still holding up well.
