I've been looking for a tool chest for my band room. I have a large assortment of instrument repair tools stored in various tool boxes. I end up having to unload each of them to find anything. After reading the PASS/FAIL Harbor Freight thread I pulled the trigger on this bad boy.

I'm going to cut a 1/2" piece of plywood to fit the top and install a small bench vise onto it. It will fit into the space I have to work and will more than do the job. Can't beat the price either.

I gave the Snappy back and bought the one from Tooltopia. I also bought the Lisle 65600 broken spark plug remover for Ford Triton engines for $62.38. The Matco truck wanted around $140 and NAPA wanted $100. It pays to shop!

I didn't do too bad today.
I had six scheduled stops and bought stuff at four, and three of those were tool buys.
Stop one was a storage facility that was having an "annual "Garage sale, and maybe four of the units were open for business, three of which were junk to me...
The last one was my first buy, and these are all American made with the exception of the small 10mm near the middle which was made by a company called "Taiwan".
I think the Bonneys on the left are the best of the bunch; when did Bonney ever make tools with a "Pro Polish" on them? Two more sizes would have made a nice small set...
The second good stop was an estate sale with not that many tools, but a few gems were in hidden in there; The large Linemans are Krauters, and may become the best pair Of lineman's I own now. I'll need to dip the hell out of the handles to make them suitable for electrical work, but that is doable. The second pair are Pexto's then a Proto double open end, and then a pair of Early Craftsman ratchet wrenches. The Craftsman ratchet wrenches are both better and worse quality than what is now available, but are certainly on the upper end, not the lower. Late 40's to mid 50's?
The last stop that had tools I wanted, had some old cruddy rusty stuff, but the price was low enough to make it worth my time to clean them off. This included (L-R) a ford wrench (a stand in is shown, the one I bought is in the Electrolysis bucket...), Fuller needle nose made in Japan, but good quality, A pair of "Vacuum Grip, No. 97" needle nose, which appear to be very good quality, and from the script, I'm guessing maye 1930's? And lastly, a pair of slip joints, Marked "CeeTee Co" and Crescent, which AA dates at 1913-1929, based on the "CeeTee" logo.
The last stop had all kinds of junk including totally thrashed tools, (I left two small box style Kennedy's and one cool looking hip top box that could have been early 20 century, but was sooo thrashed... and a lot of imported junk.
I did find a beautiful little 10" round wrought iron table for SWMBO, who loved it at first sight.

They were out on the 1/2" SAE Impact Set, and charged me for it ($78.46 total). The only way they could refund it was at full price as a merchandise credit ($65.16). I told them I had picked it up as the B1G1 Craftsman Club deal, but it didn't seem to matter. Told them I only paid about $48 for it (showed them the pickup receipt) and they said "well now you have a little bit extra for your troubles."
So I'll likely wind up spending it again on the B1G1 deal and pick them up at a different store. They did have the Picquic Dash 7, so I'll probably buy one of those too. Anyone want to buy a Craftsman 1/2" 12pc Metric Impact Set

Picked up a couple things at a metashaping gathering. . .even won a few things.
Got a few tuck pucks for shrinking, a couple discontinued HF post dollies, a Snap-On body hammer that needs a little TLC, a 12" leather shot bag filled with lead shot, a baseball bat hammer "kit", a chasing chisel, and a set of nice laser cut SS radius gauges. . .along with a couple bowls I made as practice.

Went by HF on my way home from work was lokin for vice grips with custom grip handle. Got a 3 piece set for $5.91 out the door thats less than $2.00 a piece flash light was free used 20% off coupon. Guess I did okay hard to pass up at that price.

Wright D980 24-piece full-polish metric combination wrench set on merchandiser board. $300
Toptul GPAW2601 26-piece SuperTorque metric satin finish combination wrench set. $140
Flambeau T806 cases (McMaster 4629T75) to organize 2" Roloc pads and spare holders. $8.92 each. I'm about halfway through populating them with my 3M and Merit pads that were in their original cardboard boxes. I haven't even started on the sanding discs yet, just the scotch-brite and other surface-prep pads. I'll still be ordering in bulk, but it's handy to have these cases for day-to-day use.

Racor PCR-6R spraycan racks. I bought 6 of these from wayfair.com, whose price ($4.99) was much cheaper than anywhere else but their shipping was $8.49. So I bought 6 (shipping was still $8.49), and that turned out to be a magic number; Racor boxes 6 of them, so there was no repackaging. I haven't decided what's going where, so I just figured out the spacing to fit the tallest cans by hanging them on the pegboard I just put up.

I just picked up the 26 pc 12 point wrench Craftsmen wrench sets(Metric and Std.) on the Craftsmen Club special,as well as a Gearwrench reversible ratcheting metric set.
Total with tax was $126,I had a B-day coupon in there as well though.

Those dimensions are incorrect. When mounted, the front edge is only 3.125" from the wall. They're about as shallow as possible, which is one of the reasons I like them (that and the fact that they hold 6 cans and were only $4.99
).EDIT: they can be mounted completely flush to pegboard (instead of hanging on hooks and sticking out a bit). The holes align with standard 1" pegboard holes, and I'm now using these nylon rivets I picked up from Home Depot. They're intended for mounting FRP panels to soft substrates, you'll find them in the wall paneling aisle (and not in the hardware aisle). This yields a semi-permanent installation, but they're pretty easy to drill out if/when you decide to move things.
