Man.... I love that thing!!!! Is it some sort of conversion from back when or what? Very cool!

Randy
The engine is a very cheap chinese motorized bike "kit". which needs a LOT of work to be mounted in this frame.
The bike is an early '50s Schwinn Panther to which I added aftermarket front drum brake hub "custom" exhaust (it is 3/4" EMT bent with a torch).

I kind of threw it together a couple of years ago but quite enjoy riding it to work when the snow finally melts off.

I have started the frame for a 1912 Indian tribute bike.

Yeah, well you are E-tek. We wouldnt expect any less from you. But us mortals need the fancy tools to do it right...ish.

I just meant that when that's all you have you can make do!!

Cooked the back seat of the 911, very well done.
I was working on the pedals and the shop light fell on the backseat without me knowing it. I left for the hardware store. Somebody in the house smelled smoke! :
Close call.

YIKES - Poor Porsche!! Do you have a smoke detector in the garage?

I was in a Battery Plus today and they had a 60w LED light buld ($6) and I noticed it did not give off any heat at all. I'm thinking about switching to it.

Switching to LEDs is a good idea. Damn incandescents are always breaking anyways (yes, even the rough service ones)!

Went out and rearranged things for new set of Gladiator cabinets . I have been salivating over these for days trying to justify the money for them but in the end I reasoned , things need to be properly put away . To much **** laying around the shop.
Once I pulled the trigger , it was a done deal ! No turning back , which I tend to do a lot.
I hate parting with my hard eared money and have several other pressing garage needs but at least this one is off the list.

Great choice on the cabinet mygarageone. Had you been looking about a month ago you could have caught the uppers for $80 each at Lowes. I think they were back up to $139 when I was there this weekend. I only had a spare Ben Franklin so I picked up one. Kicking myself that I didnt convince the warden to give me an advance on my allowance.

Yesterday i stripped the steering rack off the frontera before figuring out it doesnt fit between the axel and the frame.....going to have to lift the engine slightly and drop the axel off the mounts, will wait till my buddy gets back from holidays to gies a hand.

Had a little rearrange of the tool box to accomodate new wera toys

Found out my hitachi brush cutter has to go in for recall :(

Today its servicing the van , replacing the aux belt and greasing up the noisy strutt top

Seems when things like that are on sale ,my garage funds are low !
And I am having my 69 Mach re painted and that's taken a bunch of cash.

A few pics of what I was working on the day before but didn't get pictures of.

Welded up an extra set of "Kreg" clamps. The Kregs are on the left and the right is what I made. I bought a cheapo set and some washers.

Worked on the drill press, The hub is spinning on the shaft. I'm guess the roll pin or set screwed was wiped out by the former owner or his BIL.

Cleaned my workbench off from all my winter projects. Ready for spring.

Very nice!
Got the front of the dodge lowered down, now has a nice 1 inch rake. Ended up taking 1 coil off. Rear is lowered 5 inched and front is 3.

Looks great, how's the ride with the newly increased spring rate? That thing is begging for a set of simulators or new wheels now.

What a week! I finished up my first ever custom Dodge Diesel valve cover Friday night ... he wanted "a stock look with a little flash" so we went with Alien Silver, Wetstone Black and Flame Red. The 'fine print' on the right side is usually black but he wanted it to show up better.

Wednesday night saw this cool old Edelbrock CH-28 big block Mopar dual quad finished up in Clear Vision over Heavy Silver -- check out the close up of that metal flake ... blue, green, purple and silver in there. Until then I'd only seen it on steel but it's truly stunning on aluminum.

In the meantime, I've been polishing on some sweet Viper coil covers for a new customer in Kentucky ... no progress pics to share yet but this is what I started with. I'm waiting on a special order powder but they'll be black-bodied with candy red lettering when they're done; with the polishing under it VIPER will look like a red mirror.

:D Well then send me some and I'll do 'em!!! LOL I tell ya what though Alpha, after seeing that one for my customer I'm about tempted to go ****** the cover off of Billy's '96 Cummins and doll it up too ... but with almost 30 jobs in line the last thing I need to be inspired about are personal parts right now. Car show season's almost upon us and my boys aren't inclined to wait forever!!!

Hey Stroked - what'd'ya use to cut the spring - torch?

Completedshop007-1.jpg

OMG I thought I was ****-retentive!! That is one sweet work bench. Do you buy everything in bulk/multiples? There's no way I could get my working shop to look like that, but I definitely aspire to that for my attached garage!

That is a sweet Dodge dually.
Is it a diesel?

Hey thanks!! Yep its a diesel, after I fab these air bags on the rear it should pull my enclosed car trailer with the race car in it just fine. It just sprung a pretty nasty oil leak tho so that's next on the list...

Just a 4 1/2" cut off wheel on my cordless grinder.

I rebuilt a 1973 Honda 90 trail a while back..love riding it to town in the summer instead of taking the car.. 1.5 mile of gravel so you need large dia tires to feel safe. It was given to me by a fellow that had it in storage for a long time..covered with blankets and a leaking roof, it nearly went in the dumpster..even the kickstand had rusted off of it and it had fallen over! Tires had rotted off, carb corroded into one chunk, and a 1/4 rust inside the gas tank.
This is a bit about it..http://flyinglindy.homestead.com/pictures.html

Pulled apart more of the big KTM adventure bike's front - new brake pads and cleaned up the routing of the lines a bit.

Brought in some firewood, hung my new Flexzilla air reel, carpeted a few more tool box drawers and tried to adjust the air pressure on my compressor.

It doesn't ride bad but I can't get it to align. I have to pull it apart and hope I can elongate the slots. It has way to much caster and can't get the camber where I want it.
Yea I don't know what I want to do with the wheels. I hate simulators it had a mismatched set on it when I got it. I painted the wheels and put the beauty rings on it. Just need a center cap that looks good and I'll be happy. Ofcoarse my eyes always open for some Alcoas.

Finally improved the issue with the Gladiator Clean-Up Racks (fancy name for paper towel holders). Was too easy to pull a roll out of the holder. Not anymore, just did this to two of them and will do the others soon.

1/4"-20 316 stainless steel threaded rod cut to 29.0 centimeters. Black 1.5" diameter threaded ball end threaded on with blue Loctite. Red 1.5" diameter threaded ball end threaded on, no Loctite (it's the one that I remove/replace when changing rolls). 3/4" sched 40 PVC cut to 26.2 centimeters. Drilled 5/16" holes in each holder nub on the Clean-Up rack. Works great, looks nice. All this is really doing is preventing the holder nubs from spreading when I pull on the roll; threaded rod and ball ends squeeze the nubs against the PVC. But there's no way for a roll to come off now, no matter how hard I yank on a towel.

Obsessive compulsive fix, but it was annoying me and as they say... it's all in the details. And it's a cold February here, gotta keep busy to not go stir crazy.

A few pictures from yesterday and this morning.

The new Flexzilla reel that I hung and you might notice the can under the 7-Up bottle opener.

I'd been wanting a place for the bottle caps to fall into . I considered making a small sheetmetal box but that got pushed back. Yesterday morning, there was a can that I thought might be the right size. I cut a strip of sheetmetal to hang it with and riveted it on. A coat of primer and paint yield this. I tried it out after hanging it, it needed lowered and the caps fall right in.

I also glued some more carpet in one of my boxes. I'm out of carpet and glue so if I do anymore, I'll have to get more of each.

This morning a made a toe kick panel for under the wife's desk. It'll hide some computer wiring and power cords and keep the stray foot away from her computer. I just brushed some black paint on it, nothing too fancy.

How does the carpet compare to regular drawer liner? It seems like tools would still slide around on it?

I've got 2 of the Flexzilla hoses.. 50 footers, but no reel. I love these hoses and am going to buy a third.
I also have a 7UP opener like yours ( but no can ) I took it out of an old mom and pops motel room they were demolishing some 25 years ago..it is mounted in our kitchen and use it all the time...cool.....

A lady gave Me a 3 year old Bolens riding mower the other day.
The starter acted like it was stuck, and I took it apart. I cleaned the commutator and the housing and started to blow the dirt out of the end cap. Spring, spring, spring ,spring......
The brushes came unstuck and the 4 springs sprang-for freedom! They are nowhere to be found, until I buy new ones.:scared:

Split cases on a KX100 and spent too much time getting My custom homemade motocross mail box put back together and a new post in the ground.

Snow plow took off the front end last week, then Saturday a woman came off the road took it out and rolled Her car two times in My front yard !

Good thing was that no one was hurt!

So I bought this snap on wall cabinet last night. I figured since I don't join the family in Florida till thurs I had time to get it up. I quickly sprayed the peg board it came with black and stuck a bunch of hammers in their for now. I didn't even clean it yet. Might not either except for the tape on the glass.

Here's a little closer. Someone already had white peg board in it. Structurally it's good, but there's lots of tape residue that I need to get off. Maybe one day it will get a full facelift. For now it fits right in dirty.

Lots of blasting and bodywork the last couple days on the next-in-line while I wait for powder for the Viper parts. Yet another MP dress up set ... in typical shape for brand new painted or as-cast parts.

I've got a few hours into the air cleaner lid between the metalwork and blasting (that black wrinkle is thick), and already over 4 hours just for deburring and blasting one valve cover. Here's why ...

View attachment 320865

the one I worked on is in the front, and these other pics are side-by-side comparisons of what used to be identical defects on both covers. And these are merely the tip of the iceberg ...

As an aside, ya'll know I love my Mopars with all my heart, but these castings are consistently awful anymore -- this is my 8th or 9th set up just since last April when the 6-color MPs were done -- and it's really sad what so-called 'craftsmanship' has turned into nowadays.

Cleared out the hoist bay and brought in the winter beater to locate the source of fuel odours while running.

Found it, rotted out return line @ the fuel tank pump/sending unit, deciding whether to replace the fuel pump assembly, MacGyver a fix, or just push it back outside and put it out of its misery.

Think I am going to test out a "Steamwhistle Church Key" and think about it.
