I finished the install of my Wildfire 4 post lift
Washed 2.5 years of dust off the roadmaster and took her to the home improvement store for a few items
Hung my factory Jeep wheels on the wall
Also put up a wall rack for my Winter/Summer tires for my daily

Nice to really free up some additional floor space

Built 3 drawers. One is for my neighbor. She asked about a year ago if I could put a drawer under her cook top, like I had. So the year is almost over and I need to finish it. I'll get a nice dinner for helping.
The other two go in my kitchen.

I cleaned all the straps, wheel chocks, chains and come alongs out of the truck. It was left over from Sundays haul to storage. I finally organized my larger binding straps in a tool bag for safe keeping. Now, if I need small straps I grab the little toolbox. If I need the larger binding straps I grab the bag. I can't believe I waited so long to do this. It was a simple task that keeps the straps nicely organized. I also added diesel additive to the truck. Don't forget your supplemental fuel treatment this winter. No one wants to freeze up on the side of the road.... 'Gelling'

I'll be happy to take that classic Mini off your hands if it will help with the floor space.....

Thanks, but that isn’t going anywhere. That is a JDM model so it is right hand drive. Takes a bit of getting used to shifting with your left hand. I really liked the novelty of that but now sometimes with is was left drive.

The only vehicle I will be parting was with is the impala. I am storing that for my parents during the winter months.

 Reminds me of when I was in the Cayman Islands. They also drive on the left (wrong) side of the road. It was a Toyota Tercel with a manual transmission. I was very surprised on how easy it was to adapt to driving on the wrong side. I remembered from when I was a pedestrian in London and always looked twice both directions to be sure.....

Yesterday I spent an enjoyable hour or so in the workshop. I threw out a small amount of junk, including a dirty carburetor that I replaced with a new one for $11 and change, some other minor things too.

Sorted through my fasteners to find the best bolts to put a handle on my compressor cart.

Ground a taper on two tabs to weld onto my compressor cart, just piddly stuff, but it felt good to get out of the house and do something. When my legs began to complain I locked up and went back home.

I went out to the garage to fart to avoid complaints from my peanut gallery. One of the neighbours saw me and came over to practice his interoperation of social distancing. Two steps inside the man-door and he was gasping for air through his mask. He said he was going home to change cloths and shave because he thought this was the only way to get "it" out of his beard and clothes. This was worse than two cycle smoke. It is a terrible thing when at 75 this is the only fun I have. I swear, the flame in the furnace burned yellow for a few seconds and popped a few times. Lactose intolerance is a wonderful thing.

My first trip home after three months in Australia I walked out to my Hertz rental and climbed into the right-hand front seat. Sat for a moment, opened the glove compartment, put away the contract, walked around to the left side, got in and drove away. It's amazing how fast you adapt.

Finished up a project that has been kicking around my shop since summer. A friend donated this cast iron skillet to me knowing my deep and abiding love of such things. I peeled the gunk and rust off it in the electrolysis tank and determined that it was probably cast at a foundry about an hour away. I had a friend who lived out there send me a few hunks of "ironwood" (that's what they call hop hornbeam 'round these parts) from his property to use as a new handle.

I'm happy with how it turned out, but a little annoyed I didn't get the eyelet turned another 90°. I took two cracks at tuning it on the belt sander before deciding that it was OK as is rather than snap something torquing it too hard.

Here are the before-n-afters.

Getting the handle drilled was a bit of a job since the pan end was off-centre by about 1/16". I eventually came up with a trick involving a drill press and a home made wooden dead centre bolted to the table.

Still working on my Honda motorcycle rebuild. I got the hydraulic tappets bled and reinstalled yesterday. Today I got the camshafts, timing chain, and oil lines installed. This weekend I'll change the clutch, oil cooler gasket, and reinstall the oil pan.

Well I had planned on doing a thermostat and thermostat housing gasket on my truck along with a pulley bearing but the dealership lost my parts somewhere so they have to find them so I just check all of the fluids and belts and everything.

Do you intend to paint the sheet rock or leave it as is?

Moved everything out, swept, mopped and dried the floor. Cleaned the work benches, lamps then sat down for a couple of drams of single malt.

'Tis the season as I dug out the driveway markers and got them installed before the ground starts freezing. Now I need to get motivated to remove the mower deck and install the snow blower on the tractor.

Still detailing my recently purchased ‘08 Tacoma. Cleaned the gas cap area in my garage today. Also cleaned the seats and carpet. Waiting on new OEM floor mats to arrive.

Cleaned up the non vented gas heater and got the pilot lit. It can be a bear to get it to light and stay lit but I've learned over the years to blow everything out and hit the thermocouple with a little crocus cloth and get it clean and shiny. This time it stayed lit the first try.
Also cleaned the two kerosene heaters and set them outside to burn off for a bit. I don't use them much but I keep them around and service them yearly for emergencies. We have the occasional ice storm that takes out power lines.
With a wood burning fireplace in the house with an insert and two kerosene heaters we can actually stay pretty comfortable. I need to run them more this year - kerosene keeps well but it's getting a few years old at this point.

Dog broke the stake on an outdoor light, I had another stake, but the diameter was too big for the light post. So I went to the garage and created a poor man's lathe with my cordless drill and turned it down with some sandpaper. Worked fine, made a point to discuss the importance of not throwing things away with the wife.

Started a 4 gun corner rifle rack for my wife's grandpa. She sent me a pic of some of his collection just laying on the closet floor. Looked sad so I'm giving this a shot.

It's 2 corner shelves and a poplar stair newel post. Going to screw on some plastic pockets to hold the stocks and paint it with metallic hammertone paint. The notches in the top will get a few coats of plasti dip and some hidden magnets to hold the barrels in place

Finally got around to replacing the fender & bumper cover on my wifes car today, she was getting a little tired of the dented fender. The hard part was making room, now I remember why I have everything on wheels. Like they say a happy wife...

Not today but in the last couple of weeks:

Changed the power steering cylinder on the Kubota.

That thing was getting so bad that if you turned the wheel real slow while you were driving you could rotate the wheel 360 and the tractor would keep going straight.

I'm not that familiar with the workings of the hydraulic system so just to be safe I had the lift help hold up the bucket. I didn't want that bucket coming down on me while I was laying on the floor disconnecting the power steering lines.

Built a caster platform with seasonal tires to make them easier to move. Next is a shelf to go above the tires and connect the storage rack set-up to the landscape/outdoor workbench.

Played around with the 'Duststopper' when using the miter saw. It works well, just need a more powerful vacuum set-up (too much hose currently).

I spent the yesterday's evening in the garage cleaning out my old refrigerator. It has been unplugged waiting for a new home and or a better position in the garage. Turns out our new refrigerator likes to keep ice but also likes to maintain the refrigerator section at room temp. It almost made a full year of use before failing. Happy it broke when it did we are just inside the manufacturer's warranty. Meanwhile my 1988 kelvinator is chugging away no problem. They sure don't make'em like they used to.

Yesterday I Tested a CAT portable Jumper box someone gave me claiming it needed a new battery. after fully charging it, the Battery seems fine? The built in air pump, not so much... Makeing NO pressure.

I opened the compressor housing and - the housing was full of sand…- the pump and hoses looked good, but no pressure - popped the head and the reed valve had sand grit holding it open cleared that and its fine!

Now doing a "life test" on the battery - will it hold a charge? I worked the pumpo pretty hard and never got the battery even close to a flat 12V...

I also got the Xmas tree/wreath boxes down from shed loft - got the trees (Living room 7 footer, kitchen and office 3 footers), and outside snowman, wreath, and metal angels up.

Tree and inside house decorations come down from garage storage today - 10 or 11 boxes worth.
