Took pictures of all the "burned"equipment ,tools and my v6 powered dune buggy.
Yep, lady I rent a storage building from admitted to the young sons propensity for stealing cigarettes and her lighter.
A shifty day!

On a brighter note, hung the 10x10 all glass door in my new shop and partially installed roof pitch tracks.
Almost forgot, ordered an electric tankless water heater for the shop and bought an A.D.A compliant Water Closet ,( that's a handicapable crapper), for me @Sam's .

Soon. About 40 LF of floor to ceiling shelving and enlarged workbench, for my pseudo-nephew.

2x4 framing, screwed to the stud walls, 2' wide / deep shelving. A continuous upper shelf at 85"H, sized to accommodate a bunch of clear totes.
Includes a rolling tool stand / power tool storage cabinet, with a flippable top with mounted miter saw. Sized so the saw deck is the same height as the workbench, so the front edge of the bench can be used as a material support.
Docked in the shelving, the cabinet is well, a cabinet. Roll it out and it can be used for all sorts of things.

What brand? How did you choose them?

I bought these at Menards so my choosing process was to see what they had to offer first because I had store credit to use up and then to try to stay in a medium price range (budget) but get the max lumens I could. Menards has a big selection of lights, some smaller than this and some bigger but these seemed to be the best fit for my use. I have a new 24 x 32 x 10 garage and I think 6 of these overhead will provide good coverage in general and then I plan for task lighting at certain work stations to supplement as needed for close up work. They are $28 each right now on sale. If I used more than 6 total it would really make the place bright. Depends on your preference for the amount of general overhead lighting. They seem to give off a nice disused white light.

On Saturday I put the last of the items in their place in my new shop. I organized all of my small misc. parts from my cheap plastic bins of my old shop into my divided drawers that I purchased for the new shop.

I was at Costco and they had LED porch lights for 20.00 each so I figured "what the heck" they're actually pretty nice looking and really bright.
Also the side door to the garage was a hollow core laminate and was starting to fail so I installed a solid wood door

Put up all 27 fixtures with led bulbs. Then hung the $5 craigslist exit sign.

I'm In the process of digging a trench for water, septic for my shop. I still have to rough in a bathroom, run conduit, insulate, & lay hydronic heat pex tubing before pouring concrete floor.
I rented a mini excavator which was very nice. The mistake I made was using a trencher first, then follow with the excavator. I thought the trencher would go down 5', it only went down 4'. The frost line here is about 4' give or take. In my opinion I wanted a deeper trench because over half of the run will be under my driveway. With plowing the snow, vehicles, etc. the frost will likely go a little farther down. That's why I got the excavator, to dig deeper. The initial trench kept caving in due to weight and vibrations from the machine. Took a whole day to trench only 150' due to having to dig out cave ins every time I repositioned. Even got the excavator stuck once, just for a little while.

Wow, and that little sucker keeps it warm? May have to look into one of them.

any guess on how much it will run you for the winter, assuming light use not many subzero days/nights?

Its doing a great job so far. I haven’t calculated the energy consumption. It’s a 5000w 220v unit.

Finally put the light fixtures back up where the floor was cut out for the elevator. Had to put an outlet where I could unplug the lights so the floor could come down and leave the lights in place.:D

bought durovent air baffles, was going to put one up in each truss space, but 1st these things are so flimsy and break easily. 2nd they arent designed for trusses with huricanne brackets. So either just going to hang a few (it is just a garage after all) or forgo them completely. I am not suing blown insualtion so not worried to much about covering the soffit vents.

Worked some more on cleaning it out.... took some more items to the shed, brought in some old stackable storage drawers to be cleaned and and reused.

I replaced all my old shop light fixtures with LED's, 15 of them in the 26x40 shop, and when I was done, GOD said, "LET THERE BE LIGHT". It's like daytime in there now. about half of them are mounted to the ceiling, and the other half hanging at about the 8' height. I'll make changes over the next few weeks as I see fit. But for now it's a real help for these old eyes.

Fabricated a couple of doors for the two cupboards under my work benches last night. Tonight I want to add a piece of .125" x 2" to the hinge side for a little extra support then I can paint them and add the aluminum skin.
