I think they’re entering a crowded field, and if their registration of “must be done within 30 days” or your lifetime warranty is 3 years, then I don’t think too much. It’s not an unreasonable thing, but it is indicative of jumping through hoops.

No way I'm going to buy anything that is available from only one source: Lowes. I can buy Milwaukee from hundreds of different stores. I'll be damned if I'm going to be hostage to Lowes.

Tough decision, it's like buying Ridgid line with Milwaukee pricing...
If you notice, a lot of the reviewers avoid directly comparing to the Milwaukee...

They seem like pretty good tools, just overpriced. I don't understand why they didn't introduce them at competitive pricing. Also, they don't do anything that the red or yellow tools can do just as well or better. I like choices and variety but they seem to be a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

I have personally picked up the recip saw, and it felt like a cheap B&D or similar quality tool to me. It just didn't seem like a quality tool to me. With that said, most of the reviews show them keeping up with the big dogs, surprisingly!

FLEX 24V Recip Saw has 20 percent more power than competitors and up to 50 percent faster charging. It has a keyless blade change mechanism with quick-eject feature, meaning you can remove a hot blade without having to touch it.

FLEX 24V Recip Saw beats the competition video:

Video of it cutting through a train rail:

I remember Dewalt had a quick eject button on their very first brushless impact driver. Just looked it up & looks like that was almost 10 years ago. I guess it didn't do well as I don't remember newer models having it.

But then again that impact driver only had the button, couldn't release a bit from the spindle in addition to the button like the Flex.

FLEX Power Tools High Torque Impact Wrench [FX1471] has 1200 FT-LBS of break away torque. It has ShockShield™ vibration suppression.

I have the Milwaukee high torque impact wrench 2767 and it has 1400 ft-lbs of break away torque.

Man Caver Tools just posted a review today of the Flex Turbo Hammer Drill, and he says it's more in line with Ryobi, Ridgid, Craftsman, Kobalt, etc. It couldn't do the more rigorous work that the Dewalt, Milwaukee and Hilti were able to:

A few days ago he did a shootout between all the major brands to see what would be the best to go head-to-head with Flex, but as you see in the video above, he says it's not even worth testing against Milwaukee and Dewalt:

0% chance I’ll be changing over my relatively small fleet of red tools/batteries to a box store house brand (or Bauer).

I have trouble seeing how they're going to make it. They're an unknown quantity with no track record, locked to Lowes priced as high or higher than Milwaukee or Dewalt with at BEST equal performance.

The Flex hammer drill may not perform better than Dewalt and Milwaukee but the recip saw and impact driver have performed well by youtube tool reviewers.

Here's a teardown of the Flex 24V Impact Driver & 8Ah Battery video:

The Flex 24V Impact Driver is well built.

I just finish watching both video... gave me that Justin guy vibe from the bad Icon tool review 2 years back. Can't tell much since I don't have the tool to compare. I guess that is how they make $$$$ on youtube tool reviews, these days, dependents on who paid. I'll take those with a grain of salt I guess... If you haven't notice, it's like that Icon tool lauch all over again... I am referring to the pattern of behaviors... So is this MCT guy Dewalt's counter for Flex ?

Did that torque test guy or aVe did any test on the flex ? I like seeing numbers ...

I'll wait for Project Farm to do a side by side test between the Milwaukee....

Project Farm is awesome. Pays for everything himself unlike many others, who despite their pleas of impartiality, are indeed biased.

Torque test just posted the high torque, says they are picking up the driver too. And also that Flex contacted them

That's meaningless to me. Flex is no longer really a German company & they didn't produce cordless tools back then. But then again Chervon seemed to do well with EGO, no one had heard of them when EGO first came out.

And all these comparison videos are meaningless to me too. I mean it is good to see how they do against the competition but technically they're comparing different class tools (18v vs 21.6v). Then again not much choice as there isn't a lot of options for that class.

For me, time will tell. I don't see anyone who is on a current battery platform going to jump ship for Flex. I certainly won't & especially if they continue to only be available at Lowes.

It seems like Lowes is all over the place with "house" brands - Craftsman (sorta), Kobalt, Flex, etc. on top of Skil, Porter Cable, Metabo, B&D, Bosch, Metabo, and Dewalt. I didn't trust non-diversified brands any more after Craftsman tanked the C3 line. The multitude of brands they carry and how the seem to be jumping around with Craftsman, Kobalt and now Flex gives me zero trust at all. :eek7:

They have had the 18v versions in Europe for along time now their like double triple the price of Milwaukee, Makita, DeWalt, and have the same specs as Milwaukee same power ratings, some have the same size dimensions.

Overhaul I wouldn't go out swapping my Makita, Milwaukee tools for FLEX but competition is always a good thing in my opinion.

Project Farm is one of my favorite youtube channels. He is better than Consumer Reports.

But in his best 3/8 Cordless Ratchet video uploaded on Nov 8, 2020, he used the old Milwaukee non fuel 3/8 Cordless Ratchet instead of the newer, bigger head Milwaukee fuel 3/8 Cordless Ratchet.

Can Project Farm afford to test FLEX products and the latest Milwaukee products? He pays for all the tools out of his own pocket.

FLEX needs to sell bare cordless tools. If I buy one FLEX kit, then I would want to buy FLEX bare tools next, not another expensive kit with another bag and charger.

I noticed they mentioned that on the Torque Channel video.

If you don't sell bare tools, you don't want my business.

An update on this post above, Man Caver Tools came out with a review today of the Flex Turbo Hammer Drill vs Dewalt vs Milwaukee. Dewalt wins this test:

Yeah, MCT is not doing the most scientific tests, he's just trying to push the tool as far as he can. Just posting what comes in my youtube feed, tbh. Would like to see Torque Test, Ave and Project Farm, too.

I repeat. Anybody that buys a tool available from only one source is an idiot. Not so bad if it's a corded tool but buying a cordless tool from only one source (meaning where will you find a battery for your tool brick in five years if FLEX flops) is super stupid.
