I thought I had every tool I'd ever need until I found that John Deere in the 1950s used drain plugs on their power steering with a 1 inch wide slot in them. they use similar bolts to hold the floor pan onto the tractor I am restoring. what are some other common applications for this tool?

I used one for a rather unorthodox application, removing the collar bolts from an 8" Parker vise because I didn't have any standard bit sockets that were even close to large enough. Worked like a charm!

you'll find some holding the front cover plate onto many JD engine blocks.

I have one of those, ancient Plomb 1/2" drive one from my grandfather's toolbox. I have never used it.

Must be agricultural and ancient mechanical use only. I have never come across any need for it in automotive.

I was just in the Kinze plant out in Iowa, they make some sweet machines.

Used them all the time when I worked as an industrial truck mechanic. Mainly used on steering linkages. I have 3 different sizes. Since retirement, I have used them on Model A Ford steering linkage.
