It’s available for not a lot of money and I’m wondering how useful it’d be. Could I easily swap a wire wheel into it? Any idea what brand and model it is? Thanks

Put that $20 towards one that doesn’t ****. It will stop spinning if you put too much pressure on your work piece

A one third horsepower Baldor would be a better machine but that would cost about $450 new.
A new harbor freight buffer like that one goes for about $70 so if you could get 20% off that would be about $55

That used one for $20 might serve all of the needs of a moderate user and give him something to use until he finds a you **** deal on a one HP Baldor. 😎

That looks like the bench buffer/polisher.
The logic of having a polishing wheel on the same machine as a grinding wheel is dubious.

I try to stay away from Chinesium whenever possible.... Especially anything electrical...
You can do better at estate sales with older American made machinery...

I picked this up yesterday for $21.00....

If that is a threaded on spiral tip extension under the buffing wheel it alone is worth $20.

Give it a spin before plugging it in and listen to the bearings. They should be smooth and quiet but if they feel gravely when turning by hand or noisy the bearings could be shot. Otherwise I'd pick it up for $20.

I agree with alfaden above, don't use the grinding wheel near the buffing wheel, take one off. A coarse and fine wheel is recommended in either scenario or a grinding wheel with a wire wheel.
