Saw this "aluminum" socket rail at my local Lowes the other day for $19. That's for just 1! You could score a 3 pack of those at Sears on sale not long ago for about $7 (regular price was maybe $15), and they were longer, too, if you included the rubber handle they slipped on the angled end. Makes you wonder if they put some kid in charge of pricing there.
Not everything I saw on the shelf was priced into the stratosphere, but a number of things were. The quality SBD promised to bring back to the brand definitely doesn't look consistent. The pry bars look especially cheap, worse even than Pittsburghs.
As far as the Craftsman lifetime exchanges go, my Lowes seems largely disinterested in fulfilling them, especially if they have even a vague suspicion you got it somewhere else. I'm often told I need to contact Craftsman directly when I hand them something. When I do buy something Craftsman there, I save the receipt with it, because I know I'm probably gonna have a fight on my hands down the road otherwise.
