What is this hand tool for?

I picked this up recently at an estate sale, and I'm not sure what it is supposed to be for. The patent date is quite old. It looks to me like it was designed to cut electrical wire and crimp connections. Can anyone verify that?

Looks like fencing pliers to me. Used to cut wire fencing, and it has a hammer side for hammering in nails/tacks/staples/staple straps, etc. The claw would be used for prying said fasteners, etc.

Before I came here I attempted to find the patent on the USPTO website by entering the patent date. But I couldn't find it. I never heard of DATAMP before. Thanks RTM!
