What is this hydraulic jack valve?

It's a Vestil hydraulic lift table. Vestil wants $618 for a new foot pump assembly. Their parts catalogue doesn't go that far in depth.
I'm thinking if I can find this part I might be able to fix it. My google-fu has failed me. I don't even know what it's called. I've tried all manner of terminology. Valve, check valve, I've tried searching McMaster for a through hole set screw or grub screw.
It's M8 x 1. I can buy M8 x 1.25 all day long.
There there is a needle valve in the other one, should this one have one, too?

Are you referring to the thing in your hand that looks like set screw with a hole through it? Did the check ball seat against that? Why is it not round?

Aye. It looks like a set screw with a hole in it. It was laying in the bottom of that reservoir for lack of a proper term. I didn't see a spring or a ball anywhere when i disassembled it. I thought maybe there should have been, but I don't know where it would have gone, it's sealed. I assume it worked itself loose, fell out and was crushed.
We just replaced it last summer. It had been working fine then all of a sudden it quit raising

Is that the pump removed? I would have to see a schematic to be sure but I would expect there to be a check ball that seats against the screw

I think that's the check ball. I think it is embedded in the bottom of that reservoir. I don't think that's supposed to be there.
I'm thinking the assembly is toast

I was thinking that was your check ball. I would imagine you could dislodge it from the base with a prying tool, and at least get a dimension on the mostly round part, might help finding a screw to mate with it.

If it’s just a rate setting valve, maybe no checkvalve, but I’m no expert.

Maybe @Hiball should be summoned.
