What is the cast metal socket holder called --- the part with the three screws. Has Leviton in the cast. There is a porcelain socket that goes inside made by Leviton -- not attached in the photo. Does it have a proper name other than socket? Can't fine one w/o the whole fixture.

I'm making up some lights for my new project. I have quite a collection of porcelain garage/utility lights and shades. Naturally, no matter how much stuff you have ... you don't have what you need !!

I have a nice small NOS Appleton globe that needs a socket/ top and I can't find one. I have two small vintage globes that use the same type (that's the one in the picture) -- normally I would just take one ...but, I need to use them as well in the project. They are perfect other than being painted .... easily reversed. Years ago this stuff was all over the auctions and flea markets ... often dumped in boxes ... or you would buy a messed up whole light and take the parts. Not around anymore.

I'm not sure what it's actually called? I found a guy selling two light with them -- but, he wants $550.

Are you using this indoors? If so, it looks like a part from a fan light kit might work for your purposes. The part that holds the glass.

I have some barn lights that I bought several years ago with the intention of restoring them . they are missing the Fitter,Socket Holder, mounting bracket " or whatever they're called.
One day in Princess auto they had oil filter sockets on clearance for $0.50 . I bought several of them to re purpose in to these thingy's
they fit over the shade perfect , I need to drill out the small hex end etc, but they will look sort of proper 1650507936554.png

This is an obsolete part. Don't think this type of lighting made it very far into the 60's for new work. The parts were around for a long time .. that's what has me surprised ... that I can't find someone selling on e-bay.

I have one old time hardware store that may have -- but, I don't get there very often.

The fitting I need was used on smaller watt globes where you still wanted the bulb up in the shade ... they could be used outside as well.

larger globes and higher watt capable fixtures have very large tops and not the best for my current project.
