My biggest pet peeve is my maint guys using non impact extensions/sockets/adapters in the impact wrenches or impact drivers. Drives me nuts......constantly breaking them and asking me to replace them when they have the proper impact pieces available. I tell them once (they should know this) but if they do it a second time its at their expense. What is your biggest pet peeve?

I just wrote about this in another thread!
I absolutely despise Amazon's search engine and this was a perfect example . I search for power hacksaw and i get a whole slew of totally unrelated search items. Why i am getting so many handheld chainsaw tools?? I get the regular hacksaws & recip saws, but really?? its just so annoying and makes their search tool practically unusable. eBay in contrast always gives good search results with much better relevance (& plenty of power hacksaws too!)

I've yet to break a non impact with an impact "ugga dugga" gun. Been at it 20+ years.
What Im seeing the most of is extensions and adapters that they break. The sockets not nearly as much but a couple so far this year.

Lazy fks in my shop. there are only 3 of us, I'm the Sup.
Use all the paper towels, don't refill the holder.
Use all the diesel fuel out of the hot pressure washer, won't refill it.
(going on a month now ) I just won't use it. I have one at home.
Heavy equipment always on 1/4 tank or less when I get in it.
Not putting tools back in our community tool box.
Drink all the bottled water out of fridge, won't refill with the stack of cases sitting next to fridge,
Same with TP rolls in the bathroom.

and I call them lazy fks too, but their homes are messes also, so...just how they were brought up ?
You get what you pay for I guess.

How useless Google has become. Looking up tools for example will typically only bring up a few types of listings including the manufacturer, Amazon which restates what is listed on manufacturer's sites, and affiliate sites that restate what is on the manufacturer's and Amazon's site. Sometimes affiliates throw in a few more keywords to get more search results to land on their page but often doesn't even seem like they have used the product or have a general knowledge about how to use it. Garage Journal and other forums seem like the best way to get honest information and impressions for thing these days.

Grabbing a soft grip ratchet and it leaving black oily grimy marks on my hands. No problem getting my hands dirty, but I'd prefer it not be the tools themselves to blame.
We just talked about this two days ago. I didn't realize how ********* you are about this. Guess any chance of that 1/4" ratchet coming out in a comfort grip version is officially down the tubes.

As someone who does the purchasing for the repair & maintenance dept for 20 years I can tell you that I have seen a big change on sites that I buy from like Grainger, MSC, Fastenal....in regards to description of items. It really seems to me that the younger generation is taking the liberty of "renaming" or using a description of something that doesn't coincide with descriptions that may have been used in the industry for many decades. I really hate trying to figure out how someone has re-labeled an item.

My pet peeve would have to be people who pass on the highway, single lane or multi lane that as soon as they pass you cut back after they are barely past you. Or they just creep by and create a hazard for both parties. Ive had to apply the brakes or move to the passing lane to get a decent spacing or make a point.
There is no one pushing them and no oncoming trafficking even on a single lane. I've lost a few windshields not to mention damage from stones etc.

Ya, searching a specific item on Am*zon, *bay, etc, now days all-to-often brings up stuff that isn't ever remotely related. Not even close. Meanwhile, wife and I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, so there's a lot 'pet peeves' going on in our household.

You said you're the supervisor, so make it part of their regular performance review. The job isn't done until the tools and equipment are cleaned, refitted and put away ready for the next job. If it starts affecting pay and promotions they are more likely to modify the behavior. If it doesn't improve then you have proper documentation of expectations and failure to meet them for disciplinary actions.

One of my many pet peeves- the incredible number of “review” sites where it is obvious that the “reviewer” has not only never used the items in question, they don’t even know HOW to use them. They just spit out the specs found elsewhere online, and kind of conglomerate Amazon reviews. Totally disingenuous. I enjoy the sites that do the actual work of reviewing, like Project Farm or Tool Box Buzz. You can question some of the testing practices or whether they truly represent how the tools are used in the field, but at least they are giving you data based on their testing.

@will335i said it well; You're the manager so calmly lay out clear expectations for these things and have it affect pay, promotions, etc.

Those are the affiliate sites that I reference in my pet peeve post above. They get a percentage of sales if you click through the links on their page and buy the item. Like you mention, the generally provide no value beyond what is already in the manufacturer's descriptions. The additional verbiage is generally buzzwords to try and get more search results to land on their page. They have rendered Google search results more or less useless.

It has always bugged me that Craftsman acetate-handle screwdrivers have so many handle sizes, and Phillips handles are too small. For example, the Phillips #2 has a smaller handle than the 1/4" Standard drivers. Same with #1 and 3/16".

It really bothers me that Zaxby's discontinued the Chicken tenders sandwich for the inferior Signature sandwich. I can order the Kickin' Chicken sandwich with Zax sauce instead of the buffalo/ranch sauce, but that's a hassle.

It bothers me when I get boots that I like, but when they wear our and I want another pair, they are discontinued. Same with pants and shirts I like. It is extremely frustrating. Also, why is it so hard to find a T-shirt that fits?

Ceiling tiles.

Remote controls with round bottoms. They fall off the table every time.

You are absolutely right, and I DO ! I always make note of it. If it's not on paper , it didn't happen.
It's not enough to hold back a step raise though, a promotion yes.
Believe me, I've talked with them calmly, and sometimes not so calmly when I need something that is not where it is suppose to be.

Our tool box is even shadowed so they know where **** is suppose to go !

They know I can be a bit ****, but they are just slobs. Trash can in bathrooms overflowing ? fkn really, you want a day off ? not until you mop and scrub the toilet and empty all the cans. I give the kids special jobs when they piss me off.
But I can't do a whole lot that the HR department will allow just because they aren't as clean and orderly as I.

The things that bother me the most are those that I can't do anything about. Inatentive drivers rank high on that list, make that very high. The only one at home is that after a long day I like to catch the evening news. I'd really just as soon get it straight from the guy / gal on the tube who's job it is to give it to me. For some reason the wife seems compelled to tell me what she knows about every story as it comes up on the tube.....Ignoring the distraction seldoms works out well for me. :(

I think we're married to the same woman. I get to watch the first story then her commentary dominates the rest of the newscast.

Drivers who will not clear the left lane no matter how slow they are driving. People who use the term "jury rig" . The term is Jerry rig. It has a history.
Jerry rig is WWI/WWII era slang, the old Navy term 1700s-1800s was Jury rig, a temporary, makeshift repair.
People who believe "Wop" is from Ellis island stamping W.O.P. (Without Papers) on paperwork for Italian Immigrants.
They may have done that, but "Wop" is a shortening of "Guapo" for "Handsome", the implication being you're too "pretty" to work.
Goes back at least to the 1870s, long before Ellis Island.

Hate when folks use up something and don’t replace it. Half *** stuff like that is what causes work place violence I think.

Amazon search engine is all but useless now, you can put in exactly what you're looking for with the part number and it will be on the third freaking page of the results.
When someone answers an Amazon question with "I don't know". If you don't know anything STFU!!!
These people are the ******* worst. There should be a way to report this to be removed but alas, Amazon does not care about anything other than making money. God forbid they provide valuable information on their products.

Edit: forgot to add my biggest pet peeve. 18 wheeler trucks in the left lane passing another one at 1 MPH faster going up hill.

People who ride my *** on the highway. Especially those jerks in their little cars that aren't even able to pass you when you are nice enough to pull into the right lane to let them pass causing me to get stuck in the right lane.

The closer you get, the slower I go. Try flash-to-pass instead of riding bumpers. Your perceived driving skill is not consistent with actual physics.

YouTube "reviews" and unboxing videos. Nobody wants to know if a tool feels "nice in the hand", "has good chrome", or is "nice looking". Show how well it works, how you use it, test it out, push it to limits, etc. A review of a brand new tool isn't a review, it's just a waste of time. Unboxing videos are an even bigger waste of time, especially when "reviewing" a tool that you have video footage of it leaving a shipping box and doing nothing but being held in your hand. All these types of videos do is show that something exists and you have it

Silly things like crankshaft holding tools to torque bolts. Honda standardized their entire line years ago, why can't other manufacturers just pick a pattern and stick with it? Yeah, I can make a version out of a chunk of plate steel, but I'd prefer not to.

Power steering pulleys that press on. WHY! Just put a damn flange on it.

Mid year part changes, enough said.

Lazy people who think they work hard. Stupid people who brag about their intelligence as well.
