I have this pair of hooked pliers that I use all the friggin time. No other tool I own even comes close. Not exactly sure why, but I am just fond of the little buggers. End up using them for stuff I am sure they were not meant to. I am sure they would also make a great throwing weapon against an intruder if I ever needed to. :ninja:

lately strangely enough it has been a voltmeter...i have semed to be doing a lot of wiring lately...as well as a lot of welding both of which seem to end in me using the voltmeter.

Channel Locks. I can pound nails with them, pull nails, tighten bolts and nuts, screw pipe together. Has to be the most versatile tool I own.

13 mm wrench. Seems to be needed on everything you take apart.
On a side note, I can tell you that a 13mm wrench serves as an almost complete tool set when swapping a motor in a 86 Mazda B2000. It got to be a joke when a tool was asked for during that project, it was always a 13mm wrench!

But, my most used tool now is probably a pair of vice-grips.

Yep #2 Phillips for sure.

I would lay big $ though that I use a #10 Torx driver more than all of the rest of you combined. I'm on about my third one now.

I would have to say that my most used tool is a 3/8" rachet, though I use 4 or 5 different ones (long, short, flex head, angle handle etc.) followed closely by a drill driver (I use a couple different ones of these too).

I'm not calling you out or saying that I use a #10 torx MORE than you do but I would at least have to take the collective bet. I use one several times a day. :scared: I've got 3 different screwdriver type torx sets and 2 socket torx sets as well as inverse torx set. Most of the sockets have been replaced multiple times. Lots of small engines use torx screws on plastic shrouds, carb./air filter bolts etc. and #10 is a popular size.

I think I'd still take ya Gearhead since most folks here don't even know what the hell we are talking about and I literally reach for the #10T 20 or so times per day as I am a Compaq Server tech and every damn fastener on those things is a #10 Torx (at least I don't have to lug around a ton of tools). Some of the newer models don't require as much unscrewing though so how about if we team up and take on the rest of the guys. :)

It's a deal. I kinda figured you were working on boxes. I've spent a little time in the server room too.

It's the tool that never leaves my side (except for use).

Currently it's a Leatherman Charge XTi. It's not the best tool for any one job, but it a good tool for many jobs, especially when you are far away from your garage or toolboxes.

I have carried a Leatherman since their first model came out.

The Wave and the Super Leatherman are also good choices

When Im workin on the kart, either a 10 or 13 mm wrench, or a5 or 6 mm allen socket with my old 3/8 snappy ratchet.

I tend to do alot of "machinest" type work, so my most use tool in that catagory is probably my ratcheting tap handle.

A hammer almost always seems to be out. But a 1/4" and 3/8" ratchet, with either a 8, 10, or 12 mm socket is most used when working on the bikes..Good ol' jap bikes, lol. When fabricating, take a guess. Thats right, the 4 1/2" angle grinder, lol. When isn't one of those out?

I didn't even notice the thread age. I don't even look at that.
It is still a somewhat interesting topic for those who wish to discuss it now though.
