A crew is boring a hole for water/sewer from my barn to my house at this moment. We already have 100 amp sub panel out there from years ago trenching effort. The barn is about 75 feet from the house.
While they're at it, the are dropping a 1" line in so I can bring internet out there. We've had a heck of a time getting consistent signal out there, we think due to stone wall on house and steel siding on barn being good wifi blockers.
We already have coax run to the barn. While that is currently working nicely, it is direct buried and at more risk of being severed in the future.
So, my thoughts are to simply pull coax and a data line through the 1" pipe, and leave a pull string just in case.
Questions are:
- Any specific coax that I should ask the electrician to use?
- Same question on data line.. what type of wire is that specifically? (edit: I want to direct connect from the home internet out to the barn basically is what I'm saying.. instead of trying to transmit wirelessly)
- Any other advice?
Thanks!
