The side cabinet is a KR-274 and has 3 shallow drawers up top and a shelf. It is stamped "CANADA" and has a date code of 1989.
The top and bottom box don't appear to have a regular Snap-On date code symbol, but they both say "KENOSHA, WISC. USA. 87". Does that mean they're 1987?
These boxes and the tools are from my dad's days as a diesel mechanic at the local Ryder shop. I still remember when he went to work in a power plant and brought them home. This was when I was getting old enough to really start providing some decent help around the shop and I was out there helping him almost every night. His father was also a mechanic, so the box is full of tools with owner's marks from my dad and grandfather. It's mostly Snap-On, MAC, Matco, and older Craftsman with some Cornwell, SK, etc. It's really awesome to still be able to use the tools they used to feed their families for so many years. I'm working on getting everything cleaned up and organized. I'll post some pics in the "show your toolbox" thread when I get it in a presentable state.
What do folks with these boxes use the narrow drawers on the right side of the top box for? I can't find much use for them. I also wish the top drawer of the bottom box was deeper for standing sockets up. Toolboxes have definitely evolved to be much more efficient with regards to space and work flow.
I've got a pneumatic rivet gun. Hopefully that is sufficient for the rivets.
