I am not counting the parade, fireworks, grilling and drinking.

I really want to get back to my garage makeover. My wife's honey-do list keeps trumping my garage to-do list. I started building a floor above my garage trusses since they are not rated for storage but so far I only have the center beam, header, two joists and the attic ladder installed in over a month.

Anything cool going on for the holiday weekend?

Clean the efflorescence off the kitchen tile grout I installed, install the rest of the grout for the kitchen tile, sand down the cabinet doors that don't fit right, finish installing the rest of the cabinet doors, start painting baseboard and door casing, build (assemble) kitchen table and bookshelves for office. We'll see if I get half of this done.

I am in the process of redoing the entire front end of my collector car.
Removed the front clip along with all steering and suspension components.I am also having the motor rebuilt. It will not be back together much before September,I'm guessing. This is a little more than a "weekend project"

Have a HP washer pump that has been out of commission for a few years because the discharge body (cast iron) port is cracked (from frost) and now leaks. I miss it as it is the only washer I have that handles hot water. Rather than risk splitting the (weld) I'll probably (weld) a reducing bushing (1/2 X 3/8") right in the outlet to avoid that. The outlet is 1/2" NPT now bushed down to 3/8".

Have some choices, Nickle rod with my trusty Lincoln 225AC, Braze with oxy-acetylene or my Miller 135 with silicon-bronze wire (.024")........kind of leaning towards the last one.

Not much to risk here, as another body is about the same $$$ as a whole pump, probably.

oil change on the bike, maybe the car, clean up garage after various projects being "put away" but not really put away in proper places. my garage is a warzone of landscaping and various car and household project remnants.

if weather permits, I want to sand blast an early '50s Murray pedal car, that was my mothers when she was little, in preparation to get it powder coated. I plan on getting it back together so my 17month old daugther can play with it.

Finish replacing the front rad support on my WRX, weld it all up, then rehang rad, bumper, etc.

Pull trans out of one of my trucks to replace converter

Running wiring for shed

Frame floor for shed.

I will be stoked if I get all that done.

Not sure how much I'll get done, but here's the list so far.

Finish putting together my portable pond watering buggy. Just need to make and bolt on a platform so I can mount my pump to it. Already have 250' of hose with numerous sprinklers - all with brass quick disconnects.

Take the rotors to Pep Boys to get them turned ($15/ea) and then do a brake job on my van.

Install a LM3800 with two 902LM wall units (one by the garage doors and one by the house entry door). Need to also run a new outlet in the ceiling so both LM3800's can be plugged in.

Pressure wash the house

Stain the deck and my kids play set

Sharpen my extra mower blades and put them away.

Clean out my garage (one bay is a huge mess)

Drain and refill the hot tub

Swap out the exhaust on one of my 914's (putting in a bursch)

Get back to working on my basement

That's it for now!

Wax on, wax off for me. Tundra, Ram, and El Camino are overdue for the spring detailing. Ram needs probably two passes from the Porter Cable, El Camino will get one.
The wife's RX was done months ago...:headshake

In addition to the family/holiday stuff:

- finish rewiring the charging system on the Jeep
- finally finish my solar-powered rain barrel watering system for the garden
- Cut the grass (and do a GOOD job this time)
- Change the oil in the other Jeep, and clean up the garage a bit
- install an alarm system @ my mother's house

It will be a busy 3-day weekend! We are also watching a parade, taking in a baseball game, watching/shooting fireworks, and visiting my grandmother.

I've got plenty to do, but my major goal is to finish replacing rotted fascia boards on the house, paint them and clean the area behind the downspouts in preparation for new gutters. I'd like to work on my car a little this weekend, but we'll see how the house stuff goes first.

I brought home a 72 Honda SL100 from a friend's barn that's been sitting for 10 years. It's just a little past the point of being worth restoring, so I'm planning to part it out.

This weekend's plan is to disassemble, clean, photograph and get everything ready for eBay.

If I've got time, I'm going to get my Parker vise into the electrolysis tank too.

I took off all next week. I hope to finish painting the garage walls, build cabinets, and move the tools from the dining room back into the garage.

Other than that, I think we're going to see Twilight WhatEverTheNameIs and Knight and Day.

Got my electrical final signed off yesterday. This weekend I'll be working on getting the water and sewer connected. Then I'll be ready for the building final. Then my wife wants to throw a party. I'll be glad to finally be done. This project has taken 2 years. I don't care for partys though.

Possibly getting started on my nitrous system install. Had the parts on the shelf for almost 3 months now and haven't gotten around to it, partially due to the heat and preparing the car for autocross events (which don't require nitrous).

Also the garage cleanup continues and I will need to remove most of my hot tub surround to accomodate the addition we are building on the back of the current garage.

Got ten acres of hay laid down, gonna cut more tomorrow morning, and start baling tomorrow afternoon. Some horsey type people are gonna get some added Fourth of July entertainment when I call and say " Your !@#$%!!! hay is ready, come and get it NOW!!! It won't all go down the road, there will be plenty of fun stuffing some of it in my own barns.

Of course there will probably be some emergency type machinery repair involved as well, it always seems to happen that way.

Thought about that one too. But, always a but, have not had that much sucess with CI and SS. Have found it really hard to get it clean so the SS flows properly. If the body were steel it might be my first choice, then again if it were steel, I wouldn't have this problem in the first place.

Was leaning towards Brz. MIG as it will be fast yet controllable and with minimal heat. Was planning on trying it on a very small point, and if it doesn't feel right, clean it up and use the nickle rod. I know that one works but it really heats things up. Got nothing to lose, it is basically NFG anyway.

Had this pump for some thirty years and come fall a simple spin of the (electric) motor was sufficient to clear the water. Something happened (not obvious) last time I did that and there was enough retained water to crack the pump. If this works, you can be sure it will be thoroughly cleared of water.

Thanks for the interest.

Frank.

Sit in the garage and think about all those projects that everyone of you on this post is doing. Ill drink a couple of beers and think that I am glad I didn’t make a work list for this weekend because I know I would not get them done. 

Ill go buy some fire works and have fun with the kids. The family will be leaving on the 5th for a two week road trip so then I will get to the work list. I am starting to build a horse barn for the horses next weekend.

Happy 4th of July to all, fly a flag and remember what this day is about.

re-spray paint my rear bumper. it's a custom made, of 3/16" steel plates, weights 120lbs. I just removed it from the truck by myself, took me 2 hours. will get the old paint off with a wire wheel first, then repaint. haven't been done it for 2 years.
