Remodel 2nd bathroom

Finish insulation, drywall and floors in addition.

Change oil on my truck, fix my amp, maybe bedline the rockers and install some sliders.

Take the Waverunner out one last time before I put it up for sale.

Scour the boards looking for a good deal on some tools I don't need.

Have a few beers and think about how I didn't finish anything I wanted to, haha.

You guys might remember from the other project thread the VW limo I've been working on for the local smoke shop:

It's coming along, I've finally gotten the windows in, the side door gull-winged, and the upholstery in the interior, all purple suede and vinyl:

These pics aren't quite up to date, as I now have the bar in place, 2 TVs (a 19" LED in the far back and 32" LED just to the front of the side door), sound system w/ 1000 watt subs, Playstation3, video backup system and alarm. It's now running and driving, surprisingly well. We had hoped that the original motor would push it properly, and it has plenty of power. I'll post more updated pics this coming week.

My part of this project is winding down, and it'll be going to the paint shop soon, but this has been my weekends for the past couple months.

4th of July weekend? Can we say "Over Time".....I looks like Monday is the only day I will have off.....

I just got home from a DUI checkpoint.....amazing....one of the DUI's takes meds for seizures.....and she is out drinking....way too much....

Fireworks show tomorrow night

Supression detail Sunday night...

But I did make the mistake of going to HF yesterday....(wife wanted something...can't remember what...but it got me there)

Bought the MC lift...half off....so now I can take off the front forks of my bike and rebuild them....and figure out what the grinding sound is in the rear....(that one has me worried)

Working a double Friday and Saturday, start 7am Fri and go home Sunday at 7am.

In the off time, I started to repaint a Craftsman side box, which was originally sunburst orange, it'll be black when done. I used some bedliner on inside of the drawers. When this is done, I'll move onto the top and bottom box. They're red with black drawers (charcoal in my opinion) So that'll be a little easier project. I'll start a thread on it tommorrow.

Had worked off yesterday, so I scraped and washed the wooden deck at my mother's condo, put up a new motion light, pruned the garden, etc... got to go back sometime this weekend to stain and water seal.

Today my SO and I looked at few houses including one with a gorgeous attached 2-car garage that had 10+ foot high ceilings, it's the first decent garage on a house within our price range (and we've seen 60+ houses personally)... the rest of the house was original/dated (built in 1985 which is semi-new for this area) but basically in good shape and could be a pretty sweet setup for us... alas she says "I don't like it, road is too busy"... arg :-/

I'm finally starting my garage remodel. Compared to most of the stuff on this site, it's quite modest, but it's the garage I've wanted for a long, long time. Wiring, lighting, insulation, drywall, workbench, storage. Later is a lift. :bounce:

I'll have pics and a writeup once most of it is done.

Was/am going to change jets ( adjust for higher altitude here) and the thermostat on the truck this weekend, but Anne has made other plans for us.:bounce: BBQ with friends and some goofing off time.

Guess I'll be doing it next week, while she's at work. No complaints here, more quality time for us that way.

Same thing I do every 4th of July, we are on fire watch. 4 million dollars of property damage last year in the three days preceding the 4th and on the 4th in my county.

When I was a kid I loved the fireworks, when I became a property owner I have grown to detest the irresponsible use of fireworks. Fields and barns burned, metric ton of fireworks and debris all over the roofs and yard.

I put new tie rod ends in the short fore-aft tie rod on my old Chevy 4x4 this morning. I can't believe they didn't last more than 29 years the first time. They just don't make them like they used to.

after a L O N G week at work i hadnt planned on doing anything, but........

we have an old planting/flower bed next to the house that has a mulberry bush/tree in it.
PO had planted some lilacs that had gotten out of hand, so i spent most of the day cutting, digging, and cussing the stumps and roots. put in some landscape border and dug up the whoe area, layed down landscape fabric, topsoil and mulch.
went out this morning and cut the grass, played with the dog for a while.
started picking up **** in the garage, said F it.... i dont care

probably not even gonna go watch fireworks tonight, and tomorrow's gonna be a waste of a day.......

Damn RJ....your up early......

Yes it is......

BTW...schedule changed again....I'm heading your way on the 12th....but I'll be staying in a different part of town....close to the hospital....

I wake up at 5 am every morning. 6:00 is sleeping late for me. Consider the 3 hour time difference? I was nailing lumber at 6:30 the last three mornings, since my nearest neighbors and my family are out of town.

Thought about that one too. But, always a but, have not had that much sucess with CI and SS. Have found it really hard to get it clean so the SS flows properly. If the body were steel it might be my first choice, then again if it were steel, I wouldn't have this problem in the first place.

Was leaning towards Brz. MIG as it will be fast yet controllable and with minimal heat. Was planning on trying it on a very small point, and if it doesn't feel right, clean it up and use the nickle rod. I know that one works but it really heats things up. Got nothing to lose, it is basically NFG anyway.

Had this pump for some thirty years and come fall a simple spin of the (electric) motor was sufficient to clear the water. Something happened (not obvious) last time I did that and there was enough retained water to crack the pump. If this works, you can be sure it will be thoroughly cleared of water.

Thanks for the interest.

Frank.

I have in the past wire brushed the flux off of a nickle rod, preheat the CI, then tig it using the nickle as a tig filler rod. Aluminum silicon bronze rod, think it's called Everdure (sp) will work for unusual applications with tig also.

I actually fixed the gauge cluster on my 99 F150. It had the intermitten odometer. I posted the link where I found the fix over in 'Free Parking' in the Ford Gauge Cluster thread. Happy Independence Day!

I am rehabing the bathroom. Just set a new tub and shower valve along with 3 sheets of hardibacker and plastic backing. I am currently grilling a few burgers with a smile on my face because I have 0 leaks with 12 soldered joints (my first real soldering adventure).

Just rewired the instrument cluster in my 66 Corvette and got it back in place after five years of being a lazy *******. Will start her up tomorrow. What started out as just a strip it down to bare fiberglass and paint it turned in to a five year nightmare. But she is almost ready to go for the long awaited drive one night next week.

Finished one section of overhead storage in the garage. I'm taking baby steps towards having a garage worthy of showing off to you guys. ;)

been a very busy weekend. wifes family coming into town in two weeks and the wife felt the need to renovate the living room. paint, door moldings, base board. sounds easy enough but you know how that goes. never got to cut the grass so will be doing that after work sometime this week. highlight of the weekend was going to LA Angels game saturday night. the knuckleheads lost bu was still to get away. oh, friday when the living room project began, i turned and twisted and jacked up my back. brought me to my knees. thank god for prescription meds and alcohol.......

After the fact answer. My (grand)nieces are visiting and I recruited them to unload and demolish some 40 year old shelves in the garage an I installed a more efficient, compact and modern version that I've been meaning to for years. Great 15-16 y/o help.

If it hadn't rained, I would have had to take them to fireworks display instead. They BBQ'd shiskabob, baked patatos and fixed a fresh salad. Clean life and country lining.

I am not counting the parade, fireworks, grilling and drinking.

I really want to get back to my garage makeover. My wife's honey-do list keeps trumping my garage to-do list. I started building a floor above my garage trusses since they are not rated for storage but so far I only have the center beam, header, two joists and the attic ladder installed in over a month.

Anything cool going on for the holiday weekend?

Well, now that the holiday weekend is over, I accomplished alot but not what I had planed. Although it was very hot, I still managed to refinish an antique park bench for our garden, paint concrete sealer on our patios decorative boarder, cut, trim and fertalize the grass, and install rope lighing in our deck bench area.

For fun, we had two BQ parties, went to a semi-pro football game, went motor cross riding with my nethews and saw some fireworks.

It was too dam hot to work in the attic of the garage. Maybe next weekend :bounce:

The wall-mounted hose reel in my garage broke while I was watering my straw, I mean grass (yes, the builder installed the spigot inside the garage and not outside the house). The supply line broke loose and gushed water all over the car. No harm done, but I yanked that piece of **** off the wall and installed a hoop to drape the hose over (fewer parts to break/leak). I also mounted an A/B/C fire extinguisher on the garage wall. Did lotsa work in the yard too.

Let's see, what did I do.

Saturday, rode my bike with a group of other riders around Mt. St. Helens from Tigard, OR, ~ 200 miles round trip through lots of twisties, trying to keep up with the leader riding 2 up with his wife taking the corners at 70-80 miles an hour. :headscrat Uncomfortable for the first 15 minutes, then felt real good leaning the bike that far over (only scraped the pegs once).

Sunday, replaced the dreaded ICP sensor and wire pigtail on my 2003 F350 (6.0 diesel). This is a job that just plain *****. Also a transmission service on the kid's Passat. Mowed the yard and BBQ'd some chicken.

Monday, spark plugs, fuel filter & transmission service on a friends VW Passat, had a client session and finally fixed my neighbors flail mower (had to cut the bearings of the roller shaft and install new bearings after modifying the new collar to accept the bolts). Also sprayed the yard/field for weeds and blackberries.

Overall it was a fantastic weekend:thumbup:, lots of stuff done and slept well. Had to go to work to recover.:bounce:
