I just saw this on MSN's web site and thought it was a great idea to use some of those China Junk wrenches. After all everything should have a purpose.
I'm surprised that John Olson hasn't done this yet. :)

i like this...coat hooks?

That's what it looks like to me.

BTW, seems to me that it would be better to use combo wrenches and make the box end side the "hook" side- otherwise those corners on the open ends could catch the fabric of whatever clothes you hang on there.........

I used some of the junk combination wrenches to make the tines for a couple of garden diggers for my daughter. Cut off the open end part and welded the box end to a T bar. welded the slider at the proper angle and welded a deep socket with the cut off handle of a China ratchet to go up into the wood handle.

On the bent wrenches in the OP, another use for that would be a gun rack.

I like the idea also....I have a box of PRC **** wrenches that I keep just to cut up or mod for "one time use" type deals. I actually like that idea. Would work just fine in my home office! Ill just make the bend so the COO is facing the wall!

I don't buy **** wrenches, so I don't have any that need to be destroyed or re-purposed :)

Had to use a few HF wrenches last year to beef up a steering box out on the trail. We went through almost a whole roll before we got 2 bent that didn't snap in 1/2!

Cheap wrenches are for modding. 2 weeks ago I needed a regular crow foot as my flare crtows feet wouldn't work. I cut the open end off a 3/4 wrench and drilled a 3/8 hole and put a bolt and nut thruogh the hole. I put a socket and extension on ratchet and made an instant crows foot. Spent about 15 min and spent no $ versus going to the parts store and wasting $20 and 30min to buy some imported ****.
