There is no craftsmen or matco over here in the UK, IMHO Mac tools are worthless although I do have the odd item. 99.99% of my tools are Snap on. I wouldn't use anything now

Craftsman (mostly) USA sockets and RP wrenches. Matco ratchets, crowsfeet, line wrenches, pinless swivels and a few screwdriver type tools. Armstrong and CM extensions. Gearwrench bit sockets and ratcheting wrenches. Cornwell, Matco and Channellock (aka just Channellock) pliers.

Been looking at swapping the RPs for some decent long patterns and replacing the sockets with something nicer kread warrantied with a decent replacement)... perhaps Armsrrong.

I'm a serious DIYer. I do not earn a living with my tools, however, I do try to save myself some money whenever I can by using them often on projects around the house, garage, backyard, etc. I'd say that 90% or more of my tools (ratchets, sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers) are USA made Craftsman from the 1950s to current. The remaining 10% is a smattering of Channellock, Husky, Knipex, snap on, gearwrench, and a few other brands.

Most everything is US Craftsman. Collected over last 40 years with a fresh infusion of Craftsman Industrial last year. Probably more than I need but you just never know.

Mixture, but about 85% Craftsman with the majority being USA made and 15% roughly Snap On. Kinda in the midst of a switchover. My sockets, ratchets, and wrenches will remain Craftsman, but the screwdrivers and torx drivers have been replaced with snappy's.

U.S. Craftsman and Pittsburgh Pro make up 90ish percent of my hard line stuff. The rest is a mix of Williams, SK, and truck brands...Just whatever good stuff I find used or on clearance. Zero Chinese ratchets, sockets, or wrenches, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Mix of mostly Craftsman sockets, ratchets, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 screwdrivers; SK sockets, screwdrivers, extensions, some wrenches, pliers, 1/2 24" breaker; Cornwell 3/8 ratchet, ratcheting combo wrenches 9-19mm, box wrenches; Allen wrenches, sockets; Armstrong sockets, some wrenches; Wright midget combo wrenches, Williams deep 3/8 socket set; Facom ratchets 1/4 x 2 , 3/8 x 2, 1/2, wrenches, adjustable and combo, ratcheting wrenches, screwdrivers; some Hazet, Wera, Vessel, Beta, some Snap On sockets and 1 wrench, some Matco and Mac odds and ends, Stahlville wrench and 1/4 extension, Gearwrench / KD sockets, Sunex and IR impact sockets deep and shallow sets, Lisle, etc.. been here too long :bounce:

Craftmsan and SK predominate, but a wide variety. No too loyal to any particular brand, but really liking SK lately. If the price is right and it is USA made, European, Japan or Taiwan and the quality is there, I buy it.

My primary box (the one at work) is probably 70% Snap-On. At home, it's completely mixed.

"Other" because you left off Proto. :(

Mix is about 60% Proto, 25% Snap-On, 15% other USA brands.

Semi-retired professional.

Mostly USA craftsman, snap on , Cornwell in that order. I know USA craftsman gets a little bash now and then but ALL my sockets and combo wrenches are USA craftsman with zero issues.

This is a good thread - really interesting, but not very surprising. When I look at the "show us your toolbox" thread - in almost every box you see mostly Craftsman and Snap on, (not necessarily in that order).

I hope the leadership at Sears is taking note - Craftsman USA tools built the brand of good quality and value to what it is today (the dominate tool brand in the market) - their playing with fire - risking becoming just another brand in a sea of cheap overseas tools.:(

well a lot of us was buying them for 3 reasons 1 they were USA made 2 no questions asked full lifetime warrenty, 3 cheaper than the truck brands. sadly number one is no longer the case and with it quality is going away.

Most of my sockets, drive tools, wrenches and screwdrivers are Craftsman with the exception of some Williams "Superratchets" that I've aquired. I do have Snap-On torque wrenches because I felt that was too important to trust to a cheaper brand, but they were all bought used. I also have numerous automotive specialty tools from Matco, Mac, Lisle, K-D etc.

Virtually all of my stuff is made in the US, Germany, Italy, France or England with the exception of my Kal-Equip multimeter and an inexpensive code reader. I also recently aquired some Kobalt branded swivel-head ratchets that appear to be the same as the Gearwrench ones except for the handle. I think they are made in Taiwan, but I couldn't pass them up for the price. Generally, COO is important to me. The only time I cave in is if nobody makes a particular category of tool in this country anymore or if the cost is so prohibitively high for a US made tool that it just doesn't make sense for the limited use it will see.

Probably craftsman by sheer numbers (bought a cman socket set years back), but an "All of the above" option would suit me well.

The majority of my tools are Snap On and CAT. I also use Gray and have Channellock, Knipex, and SK.

Matco now have a UK sales site and vans on the road for your interest.

Like I said earlier all my sockets and non ratchet wrenches are USA craftsman. If I was going to start over today I would go Williams USA or SK. My ratchets are a mixture of craftsman USA, snap on and Cornwell. Pliers are a mix of channellock, snap on, Klein, knipex and a couple Cornwell. Screwdrivers are craftsman pro, snap on,Cornwell, Williams and felo insulated.

Just had a look at the us matco website and am amazed to find their boxes are more expensive than snap on!!!
