My routers. I have a bunch and I use the **** out of 'em. My "temp" router table that I built to hold me over until I built the Mac Daddy one sorta stuck with me. I'm too attached to it to get rid of it.

I kinda like my 12 year old shop vac too.

I just got my first cordless impact driver. It's great. Now I don't know what I'm going to use my cordless drills for -- but they can't hold a candle to this thing.

How about the top five? It's pretty tough to do anything around my place with just one tool. Top 5 for me:

1. Heated workplace.
2. Air compressor
3. Impact gun
4. 2 post lift
5. Monarch 10EE

I am still thinking about this tough question ok The tool I use a lot is one that most GJ members might not have heard of it is called a Gorilla Guage (think of a tap guage) without the threads I only wish it could read smaller then 1/4 inch. In truth I love that tool. Ok that is my favorite tool dang tough question!

I really like my set of body hammers. Got them from Harbor Freight (don't laugh, they are pretty good) and talked the girl at the register into selling them to me for half price. My DeWalt Buffmaster variable speed polisher has made me the most quick money of any of my tools though.:bounce:

They are amazing for driving screws. I had the same reaction when I got mine, but the drills are still good for drilling.

It is funny, but it is one of those tools you never knew you needed, and then you wonder how you ever lived without it.

You would think that, by definition, a favorite tool would be a trusty one that you use all the time. My favorite tool is one that I have used only once and will probably never use again. It's a ratchet set where the sockets have the teeth on the OUTSIDE of the socket. I was trying to pull some EPA **** off a new motorcycle and had to take off the air injectors. They were just a bit taller than the deepest deep socket I could find. This set lets you stack socket after socket OVER the injector (or bolt, etc) as high as you want, then the handle fits over the last one and there you go. Kind of a poor description, but a great tool. My definition of a favorite tool is "the ONLY one that would do a specific job".

My Snap-On 3/8" drive flex-head, long-handle ratchet - F711A. I've had it for ever.

Although, the Snap-On '80' 3/8" drive flex-head, long-handle ratchet - FLF80 and/or the stubby FKF80 may take it's place.

I just haven't used them yet.

My Makita 18v impact driver. It's got power to spare...in fact it'll rip the heads off of lag bolts if I'm not careful, but it drives screws sooooo much better than a cordless drill. I also have a drill chuck that mounts in it for quick drilling jobs.

I would totally agree, I use this thing all time. Torque to spare, fits it to tight areas, I'm sure with as much use as this time gets from me I'll wear it sooner or later and I will get another one in a heartbeat. All of my buddies who have used it even for just couple of minutes now have their own. This is most used and best loved tool I have, and I have plenty of tools. I've already worn out 1/4" socket adapter.
