Rather have that then a new US General but similar size is only $800. I would have thought that box would be at least $1000. Wouldn't be interested much more than that and would be looking at Snap-on if it was.

250.00 for me, but to me it’s just a tool box. I know it’s probably worth much more

I don’t think $250/$500 is realistic…

$1200 would be a good price
Maybe $1000 because some of the chrome drawer trim is dicked up

some love the color
some hate the color

those old mac boxes are very stout around here 1500 would be a deal
I have a very similar Mac box (MB1700) that is probably 30 years old but looks 100. Original owner was an absolute neanderthal, hammering on things hanging out of the drawers as if they were a workbench hence collapsing the fronts.
This one was gifted to me, then cleaned and straightened as best as this guy could. The drawers, overloaded in some cases, still work flawlessly.

It's the Miami Vice Crockett and Tubbs limited edition color :ROFLMAO:

A similarly sized, but newer, Snap On box in my area is going to be $1500+. $500 isn't realistic IMO unless the slides are shot, etc. If you like the color, and it's in as nice a shape as it appears, then $1K seems to be a fair price as said.

Only 20" deep and 62" wide with dinged up trim. I'd say $750. For $1000+ I'd expect at least 24" deep.
This, though it will be very location dependent.

There's one listed for sale near me, for $1200. It also has a side cabinet. No ones buying it.

Personally I like the color, but as demonstrated in this thread, it's polarizing.

I'd probably go $1000 if I really wanted it since it has a top.

So like others said, it is very area dependent. That box here in Western WA would bring maybe 2k, $1500 it would sell rather quickly IMHO.

The color is a taste thing but I like it.

Ok, this is too funny. I had no idea that this existed, I just made it up (or so I thought), but I'm old enough to remember when everyone was painting small import cars and mini-trucks in those colors in the late 80s early 90s. This box is icing on the cake :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Well done, goes to show you can get some pretty tidy boxes for sensible coin if prepared look and get off your **** to pick them up .
Those older MAC boxes are pretty sturdy effort and you never going loose any money on it ...
I done pretty much my whole career with used truck brand boxes .

If everything works on it, I'd say $500 is a really good deal.
I'm not sure how easy it'll be to get replacement keys for it, hopefully you won't have to change the entire lock assembly.

The drawers all slide in and out completely, although very sticky. I'm gonna see if I can clean up the slides or look into new slides from Mac. As far as the lock, that's to be dealt with after the slides. I prefer to be able to lock it but not the end of the world.

Brake/part cleaner with a little white lithium grease unstuck and smoothed out my box 👍
