Well first and for most you should continue to use it as a koozie. Secondly if you need an awesome mail box post, I'm sure you could weld a few more pieces to it.

Well I have been convinced to put it towards something other then as a base for a bench grinder. Once I turn it into some art I will post some after pictures!

Seen one (brass) cleaned up with legs and a glass top. Cool table,pretty heavy though.

Speaking from experience, I would use it as decoration. As Is. I like old cast iron pulleys, handwheels, gears, etc,. and just like them sitting around. Wife does too - we go collecting together.

Use it as a base and have several tools mounted on bases/post that slip fit into the hub.

I've been using a gear like this for over 20 years as a base for the Champion blower that feeds my forge ,It works great my blower stand is rock solid yes still easily moved by rolling the gase.

Good deal, that would have been a waste of a cool piece. If you are a bad ***, you could bend the ends of three pipes just right and fit them in the holes from underneath for legs.
