Where are you located? Sounds a lot like my weather right now.

53F in the back of the shop, colder upfront. I had to open the overhead last week and the seals are so cold they didn't seal back up.

Outside temp is per the weather app is -21F, my thermometer showed -15F a few minutes ago.
I'm in central NY just north of Utica not that far from you its going to warm up tomorrow hopefully

Was hoping you were the guy down the road that has an outdoor wood boiler lol!

You feed the house and shop off the same setup? I've got forced air in the house and current shop in the basment has a non vented propane. Would love to come up with an easy way to burn the 4 plus cord of oak I have from yard cleanup. Boiler feeding house and future shop would be nice.

I have an indoor boiler in my basement tied into the hot water baseboard and a hydronic unit heater hanging in the attached garage

24 outside currently. Been shoveling snow with layers on for hours and 54 feels like summertime.

My garage / barn is big and there are two sections. One is 75x40 and I keep it at 40 degrees no matter what using two Mr. Heater Big Maxx propane heaters. The shop is insulated well. The walls and ceiling are at R19 and the big footprint of the shop keeps it at 55 degrees most of the winter unless there is a cold snap. That's what we've had lately so the heaters have been running a little.

The other area that is 25x40 is insulated by itself and has drywall and wall and ceiling insulation and I've kept it at 55 degrees and then raised it when I need to do my industrial silkscreening projects in there.

The heater had an issue and I fixed it today and now it's back on track.

I cannot stress enough the importance of insulating the ceiling and walls well.

Before I insulated things, both of my heaters running full speed would not get the shop up to 50 degrees on a 20 degree day. Now that it's well insulated, the outside temperature isn't that big of a deal and I can get the whole giant barn to 65 or so in an hour.

I try to keep it around 45-50 degress, if the wife or kid comes out to work on small hobby stuff I'll crank it up to 65, but for the most part I am comfortable at 45.

We are having crazy temperature here this week. First week of January and we are in the 50's, very unseasonally warm. We are usually in the low teens to single digits for most of January and it was 44 degrees and raining on the way to work this morning @ 5:30am.

50 degrees outside at 9:00 AM AST (Arizona Standard Time) and 70 degrees in the garage. You have to remember us Arizonan’s like to work in t-shirt and shorts. The white stuff on the ground is sand not snow for us.

It's nuts! Daytime temps look like they'll be mostly 40s for the next ten days, at least.

I've been going out to work in the shop every night after everyone's in bed, to chip away at a project and it's nice that I barely need the heater. I think it's been in the 40s, starting out, most nights since the new year.

I'd prefer it to be in the 60s when I'm working.

Yeah Brent. I love these temperatures and not having to deal with a ****-ton of snow but I also want to be able to water my lawn and keep it green this summer so I'm getting a bit worried at this point.

Why couldn't we have had this weather and temperatures LAST year when I was building my shop.:dunno:

My heater has hardly ran the past few days as well, that part is kind of nice.

After the kids are in bed is "my time" and I go out and work in my shop almost every night on one thing or another. That's the best time to be out there. It's dark outside, but I'm in my warm shop with my tools and QUIET. There's no crying or whining or tantrums in my workshop. And there is beer.
