I had plans to do something like this for the heavy stuff. I like it could go anywhere.

The idea behind the casters is so the new bench can be moved to accommodate the work. Roll it out onto the driveway, and I can use it as a extension for my table saw and save time sweeping the garage. Always a plus.
lilscorpion and vtwin650,
The rolling drawer and the slide out panel have proven to be very handy for the type of project I work on. Below are more pictures/features of my workbench incase they spark anymore ideas for you guys.

Just found this site! Very cool!!! Here's some pics of my main woodworking bench. I built it a few years ago.

Very nice workshop. How do you clean the floor tiles when working on wood projects? Do they create a problem when sweeping?
That, sir, is an absolutely beautiful woodworking bench.
HeyTerryH, use to see you on Woodnet all the time. Still doing the insurance gig? Have always loved your shop and it's been an inspiration. My problem is that I have a wood shop in the basement and car stuff in the garage so I almost need duplicate pieces of machinery like the drill press and hand tools.
Here is my tackle work bench the only clean bench I have, yes its cheaper to build up. and yes this picture can be found a few lines down as well!

A nice alternative to a metal top is formica. Nice smooth surface ,easy to clean, easy to install with minimal tools, and somewhat durable.

The more I think about this, the more I like it!
Just built this the other day, still trying to decide what I want to do for the top
I don't have a brake to fold some aluminum over the top.
