Where can I find cheap outlet covers?

OK, so I'm getting to the finishing stages of my project and I'm starting to put things together. I've thrown out the idea of plastic/nylon outlet covers. I want some sort of steel/metal.

I have probably 15-20 outlets, so I need to buy a bunch of these. I'm looking for a cheap 2 gang, duplex/GFI outlet. I found some 2-gang galvanized duplex covers for the OTHER side at home depot ($0.94 each), but they won't work with GFI outlets. I'm not looking to change what I have, but SOMEBODY out there has GOT to make something like this for in a galvanized or cheaper metal plate, essentially I'm looking at $5+ right now for stainless.

Raco makes the cover I need for METAL boxes (i.e. not wall plate like I need) model #915C it looks like this:

Anybody know a brand/type I can find these cheaper?

The builder grade metal ones with a texture coating are cheap and easily painted. I don't see you getting anything better thats cheaper than $5.

Only metal wallplates I've ever installed were stainless, otherwise we use the P&S nylon unbreakables. Go to a store and ask to flip through their catalog....

I hear you, and that's where I STARTED, BUT have you priced GFI breakers? I've got about 20 ckts that "code" requires GFI on. When last I looked the GFI Square-D breakers I would need were $35 EACH. I know this is somewhat unusual, but in my shop, probably 90% of the outlets are on dedicated lines/breakers.

After having read your post about three times, I'm still not sure what you want.

A) Do you want a stamped steel cover for a 4" metal box, just as you have shown in the post? This covers the outlets and supports them also.

or........

B) Do you want a regular outlet cover plate? This only covers the outlets, doesn't support them, the outlets are screwed to a box.

You only need to have a gfci protected receptacle for the first outlet on the circuit, the rest are then protected.

That would be B). I'm looking for a REGULAR OUTLET COVER PLATE, configured like the picture. I only used the pic cause it was what I could easily find on the web.

Thanks, I understand that. If you go back and read above, again: every box for most of my shop is a separate ckt. That's separate wire. That's separate breaker. Therefore, based on my current understanding, I either need to have a separate GFI breaker on each or the 1st receptacle in each box has to be gfci.

Go to a real electric supply house and have them pull out a Mulberry Electric Products catalog-here in NJ,they're the major source for metal wallplates.You'll find finishes in S/S,brass,aluminum and both wrinkle and smooth white,ivory and brown.I believe they even have a polished chrome.The configuration you're looking for is a standard for them and should be in stock at the manufacturers warehouse.The website for Mulberry is down right now-but I think only distributors can buy from them directly.If you can't get access to what you need locally,PM me and I'll get a price and shipping cost from my employer to send you what you need-UPS for 20-25 2 gang wallplates shouldn't be too bad from NJ to you.I'll give you contractor's pricing to help offset the shipping.

Armed with the info Fast Orange provided, I scoured the supply houses locally and online. I had people quoting me in upwards of $9 PER COVER. Happily I found these guys online and they had what I needed to the tune of $1.80 per cover, and were VERY pleasant to deal with on the phone. I should have these in sometime later in the week, I'll follow-up then.

swgray! Thanks for the passandseymou web site. I've been looking for 5 and 6 gang white switch plate covers for ever. My house was built by an electrician and I have more 1/pole, 3-way and 4-way switches than normal. Thanks for the info!

Quick follow-up: in addition to having some killer prices, and good phone service, Dale Electric has some GREAT service. I put the order in around 12:30 this afternoon. By early this evening I had an email from UPS with my tracking number and an expected delivery date of Friday!
