I want a shallow wall cabinet (6" maybe?) like this. It's going to go on the end of my tool box for storing paint, cleaners, filter wrenches etc... Where can I buy such a thing? Everything I've found is way to deep at around 12"

Somebody posted a rather large cabinet a while back. Basically it was a man door hung on a 2x4 frame mounted on the wall. I believe the OP (where ever it was used it for spray paint and similar items.

If you can't build one yourself try a sheet metal shop, they make up stuff like this every day.

Well, since the cabinet in your picture is probably a NEMA 3R or 4 electrical enclosure, you could go with the same thing. Cabinets that shallow are easy to find if you go with an electrical enclosure. You get the side benefits of a door gasket, secure latch, and relatively heavy gauge steel. You might get sticker shock, though. Might be able to find a used one on CL, but it will probably have conduit entries cut in it.
