Thanks 3bay!Very nice find.
I thought this set might smoke you out.I am breaking self-imposed vacation radio silence (first post on GJ since August 6th!) from my WiFi-enabled hotel room in Barcelona, Spain, just to say how effing cool that find is!!

Awesome set!I don't usually go for the Hinsdale stuff at the flea, but I just could not leave this behind. I have no idea how complete this 'Chrome Nickel' set it, but there's a lot of it there. And the little carry box is pretty damn cool too. The ratchet is unbranded and just says Pat. Pend. None of the pieces are overtly branded Hinsdale except for the logo on the sockets.

Looks to me like a water transfer label like what you would find on the early Huot boxes.Same labels, cool. Are they stickers or decals?

Hinsdale is one of those brands we just don't have enough catalog coverage for. TA had a 1931 cat, and Tin Medic sent me some pages from the '46 cat (IIRC). But Unaiu's set looks different (and possibly older) than any sets I've seen in the '46 or the '31.Not quite as complete as yours but all the sockets are marked Bob Cat with the size in the middle. Had several of the square drive plugs too.

No idea if any of this recently found stuff will be of any help. (If you can't see the images p/m me a good email addy and I can forward them to you.)
I saw that. And "S" wrenches no less.four.cycle said:(* that first one is rather interesting in that it supposedly dates from 1923 and lists a "Craftsman" tool item. *)
