Yeah, it really is a good mid torque still.
This x11. I have two 894's and use them almost exclusively for wheels, tires and alignment stuff. Very rare that I have to break out the big one. I haven't used an air impact in 7-8 years.

I am sure Milwaukee's equivalent items are just as capable.

Yes like I said I was looking at the newer mid torque DCF 891/892
But between the new Ridgid high torque R86212 I have and the DCF 894 I have, I really don't think I need the new MID torque DeWalt.

I received a dewalt 20V drill for Christmas with the 1.3ah batteries and have been very impressed wiuth it. I would like to get an impact wrench now. I'm torn between the DCF899B or the DCF880B. I would be using this for general auto work and use on diesels once I graduate. I know the 889 has more toque but Im worried it will drain my smaller batteries too quick. I do like the compact size of the 880 though. I have a very powerful MAC air impact. What do you guys think?
OP,
I have the dewalt DCF911B 911 1/2” hog ring. Does my truck and car oil changes. Nice little package. I’m not a pro. I also have dcf890 3/8” impact. I bought this first. Should’ve waited until power ratchet came out. Does not get a lot of use but very nice when I have someone to put together and you grab 3/8” impacts and go to town. Just my experience. Let me know what you get. I went mid grade. Not a pro. Would rather buy 2 $100 tools off eBay than lay out the $$$ as I already have plenty of batteries, chargers, and bags.

A 1/4 impact is truly a gamechanger, they are magic, but not for mechanical things. They are for driving wood screws, preferably Robertson. A drill will strip the bit, once stripped you toss. A impact driver seems to wear the bit out, not by stripping them. A bit will last years.
