all its worth is what somebody will pay for it... but ok there buddy
i don't want to say how much i bought it for until i know what its worth =) i might want to sell it
FWIW, since that box isn't worth the cost to crate and ship, it's not likely many here are potential customers. Thus, you may have noticed, coming in new and being a one-way guy; asking for expert evals, but not sharing the purchase price doesn't seem to be going over well. Your box, your rep, your decision.i don't want to say how much i bought it for until i know what its worth =) i might want to sell it
Well bought. The original-patina-friction-slides-are-fine guys here would pay $50 for that one all day long. The new-bling-roller-slide-only guys would hit you with a brick if you tried to leave it in their garage.Ok I paid 50 bucks for it.
Spend some time with degreaser and/or WD40 and see what it looks like all cleaned up. Personally, I prefer the patina of an older user box.If I had a rare box I bought for 50 bucks and then destroyed with new paint I would be upset.

Suggest a search here on the labor and materials to do a quality repaint on an old box. More than one of us learned the hard way. I'll never repaint another. If you put a dollar value on your time, a repaint never adds enough value to an typical friction slide box to compensate for the grunt work. However, if you just love body and paint work and plan to keep it yourself, go for it.
Whichever way you go, please post photos.

i think its a KRA-398A for 1970-1983 but how do i find out and how much is it worth

Sorry, as soon as I get some info, I will let u know what I paid.
Ok I paid 50 bucks for it. Geez bite a guys head off. At least now I know I should do a complete repaint on it cause it's not going to fetch any coin in the current state. If I had a rare box I bought for 50 bucks and then destroyed with new paint I would be upset. I bought this box with the intention of keeping it anyway. Thanks for your help
Thanks jack, hopefully I can get her clean enough where it's not an eyesore and i wont paint it. i like the vintage used look also. I'm just waiting for the drawer remover tool and some time during the weekend to get to work.
I don't know of any "patina" people when it come to cars. They dig in and restore it. go for it...
OK its official! You ****! Congrats on a nice purchase.
