Have a job coming up where I need to make numerous 1/4" size holes in 1/8 steel angle iron and flat bar. Would a handheld whitney suffice or would I have to bench mount? Trying my luck at fb marketplace to see my options

I have a 5jr, and the bench mount made a huge difference in my capabilities. Won't do what you want, but the bench mount would be a requirement for your job.

I also have a 20c, but no punches for it. Until I have a need, I won't buy them. But it will need a beefy place to bolt down, and a long handle.

Update: came with (1) 3/8" bit and cuts through 1/8 steel effortlessly. Guy was using it to cut 3/8" holes on 1/2" angle iron for shelf brackets. So great purchase!

That's a tremendous score for a #24! Great find.
Thanks for posting the thread. It led to me finding a great deal locally on a used #7A with a 3/8 die to expand my sheet metal capabilities.
