Have a job coming up where I need to make numerous 1/4" size holes in 1/8 steel angle iron and flat bar. Would a handheld whitney suffice or would I have to bench mount? Trying my luck at fb marketplace to see my options
Make sure it comes with punches in good condition.Came across a whitney no 24 for a decent price. Thoughts,?
Depends if you can buy new punches from the factory. Some models punches are still stocked. Looks like they sell the 240, but don't list dies for it. I'd call them.150 bucks! No punches though
I would buy my punches from American Punch Co. when the shop Whitney Duplicator tooling would wear out...150 bucks! No punches though
That's a tremendous score for a #24! Great find.Update: came with (1) 3/8" bit and cuts through 1/8 steel effortlessly. Guy was using it to cut 3/8" holes on 1/2" angle iron for shelf brackets. So great purchase!
