The Super Tool from Leatherman is good. I had a SOG and one of the philips head drivers snapped off when loosening a screw.

The leatherman wave is also good and not as beefy as the Super Tool.

I used to carry a pocket knife but now I carry a multi tool

I have had a Wave for apx 8years. I am and have been a Paramedic/Rescue Tech for 27yrs. and I can tell you they really hold up to day to day use along with any Emergency that come alone. You'll be fine with what ever model you choose.

My dad swears by one and carries it everywhere on his belt. This after years of carrying a swiss army knife. I could not imagine carrying that bulky thing everywhere with me, but then again, I refuse to carry a wallet. Just License, Credit card and a few bills are about all I can stand stuck by my sides. I have a leatherman wave in my car though...seems like a nice smaller multi-tool.

I love my leaherman wave old school model screwdriver blades . can be found on ebay around forty bucks .I broke the phillips bit and now going to have my friend machine me a new one . I carry that sucker everyday and feel naked without it. I had a gerber super tool 400 sent it in because a broken needle nose tip , got a brand new one , they redesigned it with a new knife blade I don't like. I just bought a sog s60 powerlock from ebay for thirty five yesterday it will be here shortly it supposed to have a wicked pliers grip and you can change out the tools yourself ,all nut and blot construction ,like it comes with a v-cutter that i will be replacing with a scissors I tend to use the phillips alot and if i break it it's like $7.00 to replace

Leathernam charge TTI. Its an amazing tool but there's a major size trade-off, its a beast. Check out "nutnfancy" on youtube, he has the best reviews I could find when I was picking one.

I started with a PST2, then moved to a Wave when that came out. The Wave was revolutionary, but the original model's outer blades were very rough to open and close.
When the Charge TI came out, I switched to that. It had bronze bushings under the outer blades, which made them feel much smoother (this feature is now included in the current model Wave), and the knife was made from a much better steel (the Wave still has an awful steel blade, and dulls very quickly).

Right now, I'm carrying a Wingman. It's nice and small, and I got it at HD for $20.

Pulled the trigger on a 300 super tool in black oxide. Found a smokin deal on eBay with free shipping. It looked like it would fit my hands better since it was a large frame. Keep the replies coming guys. Especially if anybody caries a super tool.

ST300. I love mine!! Got it as a warranty replacement for a broken Core. It handles just about anything I need.
They are also coming out with a Rebar which is a smaller version of the ST300.

I've carried a sideclip (discontinued now) off and on for the last 10 years, it's great but working back in the shop full time I rarely have a need for it. When I worked on the ranch however it was indispensable. I also have a SOG, the pliers are compound leverage and work great, but it is quite large and the knife blade ***** compared to the leatherman.

I've carried a Gerber for over 20 years. My dad bought it for me when I was still a teenager and it has held up incredibly well. These days I use it to work on locomotives. Very handy and reliable.

Used to carry a Juice. It is a little smaller than the Wave and you can carry in your pocket rather than on your belt. Very handy model.

I carry my Leatherman Mini Tool. It is the only Leatherman small enough to fit in your pants pocket but still have a full size plier in it. The other Leatherman tools are too big for a pocket, or too small to do anything useful.
If I had a different large Leatherman, it would need to be carried on my belt in a pouch, and I won't do that.
Last I checked, Leatherman discontinued the Mini Tool, but maybe someone else makes something similar.

It is only 2 5/8" long folded up in your pocket.

I have the wave and I don't leave home without it. It has come in handy many times over the last 2 years. A big step up from my Swiss Army knife that I carried around since I was knee high to a grasshopper.

I've had three separate Leatherman's on me 365 days a year for at least 15 years. I'm on an old school Pulse right now and it's just what I need for everyday work. I'm always the go-to guy on Christmas to get battery covers open, boxes cut, etc. Use at work at least once a day; saving tons of time running to the shop for a simple fix. SHARP as heck!

The Leatherman is a good product.

I have had a few of them but always give them to my sons and grandsons. I don't even ware a watch. I hung that up in 1980 and have a pocket watch for travel.

My sons love it them. They leave thiers in their fishing boxes. I always have a tool box in my truck, car, boat or RV. I hate carrying anything.
They can be very handy but I hate using half *** tools. I never took when when I backed packed the National parks in my younger days. I still can't figure out why you would need one. I have worked on boats, planes, cars, tractors and done construction for years and never found a need for one. I always have the right tool with me to do the job. One of the multi tools to me is like fixing things with bailing wire duct tape. I have yet to fix anything with bailing wire and duct tape. I have never found anthing that could be fixe with the tool.

Costo has them at Christmas. Not as much now as years ago. I don't even find the cheap ones at the swap meets anymore. I think the rage for them is over. I know they have a place and purpose. Serch and rescue etc they are a must. There are needs for them but I sure don't have one.

I have a gerber flick. Im a mechanic so its nice to have a needle nose plier at the 'flick' ;) of the wrist. Are they the best pliers i have? No. But having a decent plier, knife, saw, screwdrivers at the ready really helps not having to go across the shop. I will say though the knife needs to be sharpened right out of the box.

I have a Gerber Multiplier that I received sometime in the 90s as a gift. I really like it and it is still going strong. Not too big, not too small, capable of getting me out of a tough spot.

I have carried a Squirt P4 everyday for the past 10 years. That thing has fixed more stuff than I care to remember. It has saved me many times over. If mine ever breaks or gets lost I will buy a new one the next day, that's how much I love it. I also own a Wave, but I usually end up leaving it at home or in the car.

I have both Leatherman and Gerber. I carried a Gerber daily for years on my belt, then carried a Leatherman Micra in my pocket. I prefer the Leatherman tools. The Leatherman just feel better over the Gerber to me, tighter, higher quality feel to them.

I have a Leatherman Wave, Kick and Micra. The Wave is nifty with all the tools on it, but the Kick gets way more use now. For just a simple multitool that has the basics Leatherman Kick is hard to beat.

Carried an original Gerber Multiplier from 91-2006. Then switched to a Leatherman Supertool 200. In 2010 I started carrying a Leatherman Charge XTi. I would still carry the Gerber if I hadn't been given the ST200. And the Charge was too good a deal to pass on. Gift to myself when I changed jobs in 2010. Before the Gerber, I carried a Buck folder on my belt for 12 years. I feel NAKED without something on my belt... Oh, the Buck is in with my Gerber in my Camelback, which also carries a first aid kit and I usually have some protein bars or granola bars and small bags of jelly beans. I work in the desert, and its nice to have stuff on hand all the time.

An original for about six years until I was 14, then a super tool ever since. Tried a couple others but always ended back to the super tool, I just like the feel better.

Being in the Army, we usually only need a small lockblade. Stay away from Gerber, IMO they are a cheap leatherman wanna be. The Pliers always seem to pinch my hands when clamping down, the leatherman is an awesome tool in any variation.
