Does anyone have a picture of the newer "Hi Viz" yellow driver next to the more traditional yellow one?

I'm trying to put together two blue ones with yellow accents to match my Carlyle stuff (I know...), and the pictures on eBay are hard to discern how "flourescent" the newer one may be.

I currently have one of the blue "Dale" drivers, was looking at picking up at least one yellow one to do a color swap. The blue/white Rusty Wallace one is an interesting option if the white pieces will take dye, but that seems like a little too much work.

Not as many as most, but I have a few. Since this pic was taken, I added a combat green and a pearl pink. None of these have turned a fastener and I also have all the boxes in pristine shape. This is my "jewelry". I have another four that I actually work with, plus an additional two in my box at the house.Ratchet Screwdrivers.jpg

I really want to get my hands on one of these, the price scares me though. I have had other brands and hated them.

I have three of the Snap-on ratcheting screwdrivers and this one is basically the same but under the William’s name branding. Same bits as the Snap-on ones, same ratcheting mechanism. Really the only thing different is the body and no knurling on the shaft. The Williams ratcheting drivers are GTG. I have a couple of the t-handle versions and they work fine. And at about half what SO charges, they are a bargain.

Nice set. Store them with a bit in the shaft to help retain the magnetism.

I figured I come here for help and advice.

So after nearly 30 years of owning my black one somehow I ended up cross threading the cap putting it on after a bit change. Of course I didn't realize it until I needed to remove the cap and had to put some Chanellocks on it to get it to turn and remove it.

I see thread damage to both the cap and the driver handle and my thread chaser set does not go that big.

I can purchase a replacement cap but how do I clean up the threads in the handle? Thanks

Is there a list anywhere for all the variations and approximate year issued?

no list publicly available that I’ve ever seen. There have been probably hundreds of variations sold off the trucks over the years. Add that to the ones they’ve made for different companies and organizations and that number would be pretty big. Seems ever few months I discover one that I never knew existed.

If my memory serves me, the threads are 7/8-14. An appropriately sized bolt can be easily converted into a "thread tap."

Wow, these are some awesome collections! I have a few, but they are all in heavy use rotation. I do have a Bill Elliott red hard handle that I am pretty fond of, the rest are just boring red and black hard handles. I do need a stubby hard handle though... have to get searching for one.

Just got the "power" blue today! Got some metallic going on!

My plan is to collect the ones currently available new (NIB, preferably) and not sweat every possible variation released over the decades.

But I never was a very good collector. More of an accumulator!
