I keep mine on the floor also as I do not use it all that frequently. I really wanted to make a separate work area mounted to the wall for my drill press and bench grinder but I ran out of room. I like to keep metal shavings/dust away from everything else if possible. Not to mention cutting oil etc.
Started building one yesterday, copying the idea from this: http://norliftblog.com/2013/05/24/heavy-duty-work-bench-with-retractable-wheels/
I think i'm going to make the top from thick plywood instead of metal, also the frame is a bit lighter on my version. Also adding a shelf for storing a vise and a drawer for drill bits.

I modified a $50 cart by moving the top shelf down and making new legs and top frame out of angle iron that I attached a wood top to for mounting several tools. I added an outlet strip zip tied to one leg and an extension cord wired into a dual duplex outlet box that holds a power switch and an outlet for other tool use as needed. I really like having carts with extension cords built in.

For stability, I have a 5 gallon bucket of the cutoffs and other metal scrap debris. Having a benchtop drill press, belt sander, and grinder on a cart that I can wheel out to where I want it has been very handy. I love putting things on carts.
My primary drill press is an older Sears floor model that is the heavy hitter.
thats a great idea, is that the HF cart? I have one, was going to get rid of it but now you got me thinking........ now i got to spend another 300 to 500 bucks on drill press grinders and sanders to add to mine instead of getting ride of it. Battery is really revolutionary for drilling.
