I would appreciate help identifying this floor jack please. I am hoping its an old American floor jack because I like it and would enjoy restoring it. Thank you
You can tell because of the grease zerk in the pivot. Mine is the Sears brand 1.5t with blue-green paint. With the orange paint and white square pad, it might be a Blackhawk 2 ton.
Thanks.. I looked under the jack and on the lift arm but didnt see numbers or lettersHard to say, Check under the jack or on the lift arm near the front for casting numbers or embossed letters.
It is a two piece handle. That is a smart idea to check for metric fasteners. I will check tomorrow. Thank you!Is it a two-piece handle? Are the fasteners metric? Those attributes would help you determine if it was USA produced.
I checked out the tutorial. Thank you for the link. I wouldnt mind Taiwan, but would prefer USA..It kind of looks like a typical Taiwan produced jack to me - they were sold by many different stores but were all pretty much the same, and were actually pretty decent quality (I've had the one I bought from Sears for over 40 years.) Take a look at the repair tutorial posted by board member Hiball to see if the information there matches up. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/overseas-jack-rebuild-help-tutorial.51105/
Thank you. Did older blackhawks use orange paint?I thought they used red. With the orange paint and white square pad, it might be a Blackhawk 2 ton.
Or under a tent in a closed businesses parking lot.lol That's where I got mine back in the late 80's. Still works.Looks like it came from one of those Homier Distributing tool truck sales at the fairgrounds!!
They were red, except for the ones sold through Sears, which were a bluish green. That's not a USA made Blackhawk, but it can still be a good jack - tear into it and see what the innards look like.Thank you. Did older blackhawks use orange paint?I thought they used red.

Yep, and made in Taiwan.Man it sure does, even the two stickers.
Thank you very much. I believe you are correct. I appreciate you going to the trouble of posting the link.It looks like this 2 ton Blackhawk to me, even has 2 piece handle.

Are you basing that on the picture you posted? Because I've never seen any piece of Blackhawk USA equipment in orange, only red. And with Hein-Werner a competitor, I can't imagine Blackhawk ever using orange. You are welcome, I hope I am correct. Also, Blackhawk did paint their jacks orange not just red.
