Gentlemen (and Ladies where applicable),
Who needs what? I'm putzing around the shop today, inventorying and completing socket sets, wrench sets, etc. I've come to the realization that I have way too many extras of everything. 85 toolboxes, mostly full of extra sockets, drive tools, ratchets, wrenches, etc. For example, I have 6 stacks full of only sockets, 3 stacks full of only wrenches, a roll-cab of ratchets only, and so on.

So, I've decided to share a bit. If you have partial sets where you are looking for pieces to complete them, post a pic so I know what style, and I'll do my best to help you out. All I'm asking for is compensation for the ride. If you ask for a "pile" and I can help, feel free to compensate as you wish, but I'm only asking for the ride.

A quick scan of "extras," homeless tools looking for their long lost sets, tells me I have some of everything.

I'm trying to work on a couple cars, and the engine for my '70 Goat will be here within the week...…..I need some room.

EDIT: My most desirous needs are in my signature if you'd rather just trade.

Thanks!!

Todd:beer:

I'm looking for a Proto 3316 (1/4") ignition wrench marked similarly to the 3318 in the photo below. It was the only wrench missing from a military tool roll I recently bought.

Please let me know if you have one if your piles of extras. Thanks!

Awesome! I've got a couple of things sitting around here with your name on them.
I just posted in the SK thread what I'm missing on the toolboard I picked up a few weeks ago. That post is HERE. But, it looks like you have a SK-Wayne rotomat in your signature now, so... we may be at odd on that one.
Some of my combos are SK Wayne, so maybe we can trade if needed.

Todd! Your man card almost went on provisionary status, but then you mention the GTO. All is well.

But isn't this something like the Smithsonian selling relics to make room for a new TRex fossil? :)

I'm looking for an SK 1 3/16 bullet socket 1/2" drive. Let me know if you have one.

Todd,
In addition to the Plomb stuff we have visited about before and associated threads linked in my signature line, I am also trying to fill the following sets:
S-K knurled 1/2" drive:
40138 1 3/16
40131 31/32
Also any extensions that are period correct for these.

I'm also working on some 1/2, 3/8 and 1/4 New Britain, knurled sets as well as NB None Better (trying to fill that box I found!), Husky and Craftsman BE. If you think you might have any spares of these I can put together a list to let you know what I still need.

Thanks!

Those are more modern than my collection. I know for a fact I don't have any in that style. Sorry

My rotamat hasn't arrived yet (lost in USPS limbo somewhere since the 13th) but it looked like it only accepted sets with pouches, not individual wrenches. I'll see when she arrives.

Sorry, the unicorn 1 3/16 sockets are all in sets.

See above on the 1 3/16. No extra 31/32 either. I have lots of extra NB knurled 1/2", only a couple 3/8", and a fair amount of 1/4". I have gobs of BE, and quite a few Husky knurled in 1/2" drive. Please elaborate.

That is great of you to make the offer. If I lived closer I would be satisfied with a glimpse of your collection. Hope you don’t wear to much of a path to the post office. Have a great summer.

Todd,
You already know the special sockets I’m looking for. I could also use some wartime unmarked S-K 1/4” drive extensions or flex handles if you have extras.
Thanks,

Very cool offer. I'm looking for a few things...

A plomb 4710 socket, SK 40132, 40130, and 40128 knurled sockets.

I'd gladly pony up some cash if you happen to have a pebble 1212 or a 4748 plomb ratchet.

Thanks!

I looked through your lists and I could only find 2 proto items you need. A 5326hpa spark plug socket and a 5467 breaker bar. They're yours if you want them. The breaker bar is in pretty rough shape with a lot of peeling chrome.

FWIW, I'm going through the same exercise, but on a smaller scale. I just gave away several boxes full to the kid across the street starting collision repair tech school.

PM me with your list of black industrial Snap-on. I'll make you whole on those.

Also need an old school pre-'49 Blue-Point 1" combination.

Incidentally, here is a link to the engine being Dyno'd.

Good man, putting a Pontiac engine back in a Pontiac. Lots of people are doing LS swaps these days...nothing wrong with doing that in a Chevy but I like seeing Pontiacs with the correct engines. :)

Jack, unfortunately, I too need the 1" combo to complete my set. I really don't collect Snap-On, only users. Most of my old SO makes it's way to the Florida Snap-On vortex.

Todd,
NB Husky 1/2" dr wish list

NB Husky 3/8" dr wish list

CB1214 - 7/16"
CB1219 - 19/32"
CB1226 - 13/16"
CB1228 - 7/8"

What I have is in Green. I don't have any 3/8" drive stuff from the NB knurled era.

Hey Todd, I'm looking for a 5/8" Sparta wrench, as the one in my set was just a filler.

That's a tougher one to find, but I wrote it on my board. All my wrenches are organized by brand, unless they are one-offs like Sparta, Gambles, Lakeside, etc. God is the only one that could point out where those are, so I'm going to have to wait for a sign! :bounce:

I do however believe I recall having one, so I'll keep an eye out.

Guys, just a reminder that these are collector age tools. I never pick up metric except those I need for use. I have very very few xtra metric tools. A couple s-k wrenches I saw today, that's about it.

Todd,
I'm trying to complete set 4347. I've included ad though I'm not sure what year catalog it came from. I'm only missing 3 pieces - SK 1/2" drive knurled 1-1/16 socket, 1/2" drive crossbar and the toolbox for this set. Would you have any of these missing pieces?

I'm also trying to complete a set of 1/2" drive long C underline Craftsman BE knurled sockets. I can't find a list that tells me all the sockets that were in the sets. I've got the following 1-1/16, 1, 7/8, 13/16, 11/16, 21/32, 5/8 & 7/16. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing socket-wise? These are all 12-pt. I've included 2 pics of one of the BE sockets just in case there are different versions.

If so let me know what I owe you. I wish I had anything you need I'd absolutely try to help you out.

Thanks!

Mike
