Carflex is difficult even when it's only 6' and gets a curl in it.

There is workmanship and then there is not. Your pic was not. They got what they paid for. If not shame on them. Surprised they didn't use Smurf pipe.

I didn't go through the roof, but about three weeks ago I ran about 75' of sealtite across a commercial roof for a kitchen exhaust fan. It's supposed to be temporary while the roof gets replaced but if the roofers don't get it together and get finished pretty soon, I might forget about it and my temporary fix might become permanent.

That actually crossed my mind. Maybe it was supposed to be temporary for some reason and was never addressed? But the tar or whatever it is used to seal it? That's just terrible on a rubber roof. Makes me think it wasn't temporary or done by someone with a clue.

The rubber on that roof jack is going rot, Oatey style roof jacks are a POS. But it fits in with the rest of the install.

The carflex comes through the roof right above the electrical room. The AC unit is over a server room. Here's the kicker. There's no drop ceiling inside. It's fairly high, but everything is open to have run the electric inside.

If a person or entity is leasing a building, the building will likely have a "restored to original" clause at the end of the lease. In that case, reusing an existing penetration could be better long-run. Plus only need 1 trade instead of 2 or 2 instead of 3 depending on who does what.
