Why does everyone stop the coating inside the door???

Curious why every picture that I've seen has the coating stopping short of the driveway inside the door. Why? I have had Benjamin Moore Epoxy down for almost 10 years and it goes all the way outside to the driveway. No yellowing or fading what so ever. Am I missing something or are all of the products talked about here of a quality that will yellow or fade over time? Maybe I should just redo with what I have if that is the case.

Or is it a matter of asstetics? I personaly think it looks weird having just a small strip of uncoated concrete floor showing.

i ran my epoxy under the door, right out to the lip of the concrete. I do have some slight yellowing after a year and a half, but not too bad.

I stopped at the lip in the concrete which happens to be about 3" inside the face of the door. That seemed like a better idea that trying to mask a [straight] line directly under the door when I did the floor.

Yellowing of the top coat was also a concern.

I had mine done seven years ago out to the driveway joint, so about 10" or so of the epoxy coating is outside the door seal; has stood up very well physically, but UV has lightened it quite a bit compared to the floor inside the door - it gets full sun until about 1:00 PM.

I guess it depends on the type of product used. The Benjamin Moore product that I put dow about 10 years ago is rated for outdoor use as well as indoor so I would assume that it is more resistent to UV fading. I have had very little color change in mine over 10 years. I think I've decided to use it again to recoat my existing floor and the new addition. I can have it custom mixed for color and they offer a clear to cover the colored chips that I'm getting. Thanks for the feedback.
