Seeing as how you didnt give us a make and model there is no way to answer that question
But it doesnt make sense to plug a switch into an AP when you already have a switch in the office. If this switch is full, just get a bigger one and replace the existing one
The switch only has one ethernet input. If the wireless access point in the garage has ethernet ports, you can use it like any other switch. Just run cables from there.
Thank you, so the switch is in line 1st and then the access point comes after that?Put the switch in the garage ahead of the AP
The switch in the office is not full. I have one port going to my computer then another port that is utilized for the security cameras. The third port branches off through the attic, then underground to the detached garage.Seeing as how you didnt give us a make and model there is no way to answer that question

Correct I only have one wire going to the garage coming off of the switch located in the office.Guessing OP has a house that may have been prewired and only has one run going to the garage.
I wasnt paying attention when i wrote that. I meant to say install a switch in the garage not the office. I fixed itGuessing OP has a house that may have been prewired and only has one run going to the garage.

Yes put the switch in the garage then connect the AP to that. Get a POE switch so u can power the AP from this switch
