Oh yea, I would file a complaint and send them back to the seller as soon as I got my money back. From the pics posted above there was no doubt that they took the pics around the damage in an attempt to hide the damage. On top of that If they did not list the damage it in the auction it was another attempt to conceal damage in hopes of screwing someone. I HATE ebay sellers like that. They should have to pay a fine for **** listings like that.
X2....
Unless you get lucky, and find a local dealer that has the matching wrenches, chances are, if you sent them to MAC, you would get back wrenches that are slightly different. If that does not bother you, well, then fine. But if it does, returning the whole set to the eBay seller is your best bet.
The way to proceed is to file a Paypal complaint. That way, any discussion back and forth with the seller becomes part of the record. You can politely let the seller know that you expect a full refund PLUS return postage. I would not expect to get the refund untill the item is sent back though, (make sure it is sent back insured and with signature confirmation.) Do not send them back until Paypal instructs you to do so. I'm not sure if Paypal will force the seller to pay return shipping, but you still have the potential to leave negative feedback. If the seller hesitates at all, explain to the seller that his coorperation is essential for him to receive positive feedback. If not, he will get negative feedback, and "0" Stars in the applicable category. Hope it does not come to that, but if you do leave negative feedback, make sure you follow eBay's feedback rules so that it sticks. For example, if you leave feedback that says: "SH**Y condition" the seller could get the feedback removed, (no profanity allowed).
Can you post a link to the eBay ad so we can take a look?
Worse case scenario, if you get no satisfaction from the seller, you can always go back to MAC and get the Taiwanese replacements. Then resell the whole set on eBay (properly disclosing that a couple have been replaced recently). You will get most, if not all, of your money back; and then start over.
BTW, I think I have a set of these around that will be selling on eBay soon; not sure if they are Snappy or MAC though. I will start digging. I KNOW that I have a set of the long pattern MAC combo wrenches to sell soon, (a really awesome set, up to 27mm I think, and the big ones are really long).
