I don't see it in the specs at the linked location, but how low can that thermostat be prorgrammed to go?
do they have them that would work with a 220v heater, like the daytons?
I used one of these when I was running a 5kW heater

The manual explains it very well. A relay is an electrically piloted switch. The manual shows a wiring diagram of how to connect it to a thermostat.

Worked wonderful. It made it easy for me to put the thermostat where I actually wanted to put it.
So, do you have wifi out in the garage? My garage is so far away from the house and we live in the boonies, so no wifi out there. It is a heck of a cool idea though. I like.
What I don't like is heaters that are set up for line voltage thermostats. I don't know why some are like that. I have a Sunstar radient tube heater that is line voltage. I should have just gone with a relay, but didn't since the relay and the thermostat were about as expensive as the line voltage tstat. I wish I would have relayed it now, since it doesn't like outside wall mounting as well as my old one did, and I will probably have to relocate...which means running cable instead of a little thermostat wire. Dangit!
